I never did this, and if I take more than 30 seconds to think it through I'll probably realize that the math just doesn't work... but if the configuration of your grow space was such that you had no choice but to mount the twin 600s side by side instead of end to end, how practical would it be to use a "Y" connector to split your ductwork before it enters the hoods, and then another "Y" to rejoin them to a single duct on the other side? Obviously you'd need a bigger inline fan, but what sort of changes would you need to make in the size of the ducting to accommodate that? I know this sounds completely off the wall, but I've never seen that done, and I'm sure others have solved it before.
