Will a 36-42v cob run off of 35.75v?

My only problem is the fact that I'd probably end up cranking it up on accident and burning up all my chips! Not that I would actually do so, but it could happen. What I want to know is in the case of running a series circuit, what if you have say for example 6v leftover. Would you actually have to dial the voltage down, or would you have to use a resistor for leftover volts?
Series wiring with leftover voltage isnt forced into cobs, but just results in a slight loss of potential and efficiency loss

What did a dozen of those 3590's run you and did you get them through Kingbrite led? How long does it take when ordering from them and how easy is it to reach them with an order?
I'd never dealt with alibaba before so I bought the first four CXB3590 from Mouser for about $80 each and the rest from Jerry for maybe $60 each, delivered. DHL is extremely fast, like a couple days to Seattle.

It was easy enough to deal through alibaba, pretty much like ebay. Jerry sends out the emails about every two weeks, this is from 13 days ago:

Damn!! I thought you could get 3590's through Jerry for $40ea, which may be the case but what does he charge to ship em? Surely not $20per led...right?! Too bad that list of stock doesn't have prices listed as well.

Kingbrite (DHL) shipping was $60 for 8 cobs and 8 heavy ass glass lenses, had to be 8-10 lbs. Had them in my hands in 9 days.

I bought my COBs a while ago, prices have gone down at kingbrite and up a little at mouser. My order included a dozen 100mm lenses--not sure if I'm going to use them, probably not at first.

My latest order was for a dozen CXB3590 5000K CD (passive veg) and it was $40 for shipping plus 4.5% merchant paypal fee. I paid $47.50, it looks like they are 46 now.

I opted not to install my lenses too, want to see how it does on this grow, Pretty soft and even coverage getting OK canopy penetration. Will do a little pruning to open things up.

Anybody ever heard of Cutter.com? To get to the site you actually have to enter cutter.au.com as the company is based in Australia. I'd never heard of them until I saw an ad on this site for cree cxa3070 for $32.99 and cxb3590 for $45.99. I also noticed there was a discount code for this site, I unfortunately didn't write it down and can't remember what it is?!! Something like"rollmeone" but I doubt that is it. Anyone else see this ad, if so do you remember the code?

I do have a question which is quite the same but the other way around. The hbg-100-36 has an output range of 21.6-36v. I want to power a cxb3590 36v at 2.7a but this will run at approx 37v. Will this work?

Simple answer no, at last my CXA3070 at 1.3A started clamping already and only 36.1V
At 36.1V it will start to co
clamp power gradually.
I am returning a pair of hlg-186H-36B for that exact reason

I just found this on their site for $30.66 USD each before the discount. Might be able to afford the 3070's at this price!

what can I say dude your totally right. only my CXA3070 would be lower than that as well, but why would you buy CXA when CXB is 33% more efficient

What's your price on the 3070s? And probably because they cost 50% more for 33% added efficiency, which doesn't 100% balance out. But if you're getting rid of cxas for less than 20 usd pm me I'll grab a bunch.
