I have no idea what they have going on in the box. All I can really say is 100w cobs with optics need more headroom or it's really easy to over do the light and compromise plant health. My next run will be 100w + per cob without optics, maybe diffused, to see if I get a better user experience
Here's their latest 200W model, purchased after they went "dark" for a time a few months earlier. The case does get a little too hot for my taste, I'm thinking of either getting small fans to blow across the lights or install 40mm fans on the exhaust ports to facilitate air movement.

Test run with and without optics (check out color temps, all are 4000K):

Two of the units were a bit banged up at the corners, but nothing that would compromise safety or performance. Just a few more pieces and this grow is good to go! And I got a migraine from staring at the mylar too long, being light sensitive and all. Going to need sunglasses when working under these lights.

I might have to stop looking at the LED thread for the next few months to prevent buyer's remorse - there are a TON of new community lights coming that I unfortunately couldn't wait for any longer. :bigjoint::peace:

I have cxb3070 with te connecivity 2-2154857-2 on artic alpine 64 plus and it's perfect.
64 plus version is completly flat no problem with ideal holders too.

Thanks! I went ahead and grabbed some alpine 11 plus coolers.. should be good. I'm planning on using 2 heat sinks, maybe 8 or 10" x 24" or so, with 4 CXB3070 driven by a 1400 MW driver. Having had a CPU cooler fan freeze up, I kind of like the idea of larger/single sink to dissipate heat with and in absence of active cooling/fan.

Another thing, I don't see too many DIY's here or even the pictures of items sold with thermal cut off and other basic forms of circuit protection.

@Zulu Smoker

Thanks for the pics. Thats the clearest ones I've seen yet. Might want to check about voiding warranties first. Better to let them fix it than modifying a expensive light.
There are better options coming out everyday. Shouldn't be long before there is a good selection of available lights giving the customers a chance to be more discriminating. Not like you had a lot of choices for prebuilt stuff...

Driving them softer after warranty is up wouldn't be a bad idea. 50, 60, or 70w each and run them closer to the canopy.

time to start prepping turkey..Happy Thanksgiving LED heads

If you want the full 8MP shot I can send it to you for your perusal. I would've waited for the other lights but I've got a schedule to keep lol. Warranty for the Optic Veros are 5 YEARS, I doubt I'll still be running the same lights after that long (or they'd be used for another purpose) since there's probably more efficient and better technology by then, but it's a nice touch and gives you some confidence in their longevity. Haven't pushed these lights yet, but will soon - I'll postpone my final judgement until then.

I hope I don't burn any plants! :bigjoint: Happy thanksgiving guys.

Nice setup. I see they stopped using Meanwell NPF.

I guess so, I don't want to rip the adhesives off but I think the specs are still the same. I'm guessing it's an LPF-90-42 instead of the NPF-90-42. Where are the NPFs made?

China. I am sure Meanwell Has very good quality control no matter where they are built. Sucks, but still a Meanwell

yes its that easy, and those lights will ROck IT,, from both those sites,, and if you buy a cheapy BLURPLE light with those small diodes,, because you fell to slick advertising and big words and switches on top that make it change color,, then you have tossed your money away on weak lighting
Good luck trying to get the A51 lights they are about a month out.

thank you. I just ordered 3 vero 18 4000ks at this site https://www.newark.com/webapp/wcs/s...pvockcCNYZ4QGSoM VC7MRKGWWcgK99NzvInEkTJ13mIl total cost with shipping was only $51. plan on running all 3 on a 600ma driver for the first test grow.http://www.ebay.com/itm/221706249074?_trksid=p2057872.m2749.l2649&ssPageName=STRK:MEBIDX:IT if it works well will get a 4th led and raise the current to 1 amp for a 2foot by 2 foot grow area. also have a cree 3070 3000k I can add to the mix.hopefully it will work better than my mars hydro 300watt that keeps losing leds

What is the best option for full grow?
Cxb 3070 3k or 4K?
Cxb 3590 3k or 4K?
I like the 3k option either way because I feel that flower is most important but what do you guys think?

I use CXB3590 3500k CD bin for both veg and flower driven @50 watts per COB right now but get dimmed down to 23 watts during the summer
