Newbie question.

This is probably too broad of a question and I know a lot of factors may affect this. But I'm really interested on how I can increase my bud Grith, make them tighter, bigger. I know as long as the herb tastes good and it does its job it should be good. But I would like to know what I'm doing wrong.

My watering ph is 6.4 every time and my ppm for the 5th week of flower is 1200.
They are under a 1000watt light and stay around 74f and 48 humidity
Here are some pics of both plants at 5 weeks

The one with the single cola is a pineapple express which should be done by the 7th week.
The second one is a mad hatter which I think should be done closers to the 9 10th week.

I think that genetics are a super key role when it comes to bud size/ girth, so unfortunately most of it is what it is. But if your using an hps they should be nice n dense, or as much as they can be. Maybe add some more nutes for flowering? Another trick is to make sure that the buds are in the "sweet spot" of the light. Exactly how far away this is with a 1000W bulb I am not sure, but that could affect it. I know growweedeasy.com has good information about getting your buds in the "sweet spot". It's just a certain distance away from your lights where conditions are perfect.
