If you're trying to use carbonated water for CO2 enhancement keep in mind that you are literally better off taking a big breath blowing on the plants (lungs have a vital capacity of about 4 liters and our exhale is about 45,000 ppm CO2).

Mr. Green says its a good idea if you can't afford Co2 system, but he can. He says he uses both methods.

i am curious about this as well and noone has directly answered this. blowing would be better theoretically. but since i also want to keep moisture on the plant and provide co2 over a length of time, spraying with carbonated water seems to make sense for me. My plants are 4 weeks old and roughly 4 inches tall, i wasnt planning on using it until at least at 1 foot tall because there should be plenty of co2 everywhere. In fact chemically with an air flow system (a fan even) i dont see why you would ever need co2 unless you sealed the room off

You don't need to keep the plant moist like this. In fact, doing so could encourage a fungus outbreak. You're right, with good airflow you don't need CO2 enhancement.

Now, descibe how you're growing so we can figure out why your plants are only 4 inches tall at 4 weeks.

lol, you can see my post somewhere in this same newbie forum, the reason is i used a 75 watt plant flood light during the 4 week period, its bagseed and was experimental

now that they are growing in the grow room (and having better seeds on the way) with 2, 40 watt cfls and a 250 watt hps they should get some life back and be ready for my next batch

Even starting with a 75 watt plant light many years ago, I don't think I ever had a 4 inch plant at 4 weeks. If anything these plant lights will cause excess elongation. It's not the light, you're doing something else very wrong.

hrmm, soil maybe? i used garden soil at first and was very compact. my theory is the roots were having trouble expanding. i added perlite and sand to make it breathable. That sound like the problem maybe? I am curious about this. the only other difference i can think of is air flow, i had none before, now i have alot..

any advice or insight given is much appreciated as i would love to do my grow right :)

i also have fem pure power plant seeds coming in to start my second grow since my grow room is finished

edit 2: i dont know if it makes a difference but the 4 weeks is 4 weeks since the seeds cracked open so its really just over 3 weeks of growth and the plants look healthy even tho you guys say they are way undersized (which i would agree with but maybe its genetics?)

you say here that you have garden soil ( from the ground?) and in the other you say you have mg bag soil.
if it is the ground soil, thats your problem then, it has nothing in it.

sorry i didnt make it clearer, it is miracle gro garden soil, it is bagged soil that is meant for the ground. Basically meaning the soil didnt have very good draining properties. I solved this problem by adding 20% perlite and 10% builders sand. Unless someone sees that it is wrong. Organic MG potting soil should have been used instead of the garden soil, I guess I didn't look too well :)
