Building my grow tent.

Well, I've had the wood for a while just haven't gotten around to it, but finally tonight I built the frame to my new flower room. The inside width after all the walls and such are up will be 5.5x5.5' and its about 6' tall.
This chamber will house a 1000w inside a cool tube lighting my "SOG Harvest every 2 weeks" Setup. The plants for this setup will come over from my mother/veg tent CLICK HERE TO SEE (the veg tent). I will be covering the outside, top and floor with black poly film, then putting a layer of Styrofoam insulation (control temps easier, I grow in an unfinished basement can get cold, especially with winter just around the corner) on the walls and floor as well, and then lining the inside with safety blankets (the ones in survival kits, cheap and decent size, about $15 they are like $4 each or something and i can cover my room + my clone cabinet + will still be extra). Not sure as to how well they work and if they make hot spots or not but meh, if it doesn't work out I will go out and just replace the blankets with white poly or real mylar!

Also not sure if you can see it or not but there is tiny 2x4's attached to the 2x4's in my floor as extra support, thing doesn't even wiggle, lol.

I will keep this thread updated as I continue with the tent!

wow..........man i got to help u
1 your walls down there ........u need to clean/paint them or seal them off (poly wrap the walls sealing all the nasty inside)

2 your ceiling with the exposed insulation.....clean it up seal it up they have high amounts of mold spores and other thing collected into them over time

honestly man this is a MUST ........no joke unfinished basements unless u prepare them the weed gets a musty taste ( that smell of the basement goes into the smoke)
the last part would be to run a Ozone gen in the area to clean up the air before u use the area

now for lining the area ........for protection u want IR blocker
http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B011MS5SQO?keywords=ir blocker&qid=1446958523&ref_=sr_1_1&sr=8-1
yes it cost .......but it will block any thermal cameras from seeing in (best part it is reflect with a pattern to defuse light).....rem not to pop the air bubbles in the middle they are key to the protection it offers (those popped it is no good) ....ir blocker will trap the heat need to extract

as for the mylar safety blankets do not use them (they are ment for heat reflection ) they are just going to increase the chance of heat stress ........i learned that the hard way the best bet is the IR blocker or flat white paint

Watch that height! 6Ft is cutting it a bit close with a 1kw bulb. Only reason i know this is i use the same size cabs with 1kw bulbs. Sativa + tall pot = problems

I'm not stupid, I obviously know that environment isn't suitable. I never asked about anything you just flamed me on. Except the blankets. I will instead go with panda film then. If you read my post you would know the tent is going to be poly wrapped. So no I won't have the basement smell in the tent, are you also going to try and tell me my plants in my bought grow tent will "taste musty" because the tent is in the basement aswell? yet when you go in it smells brand spanken new still. Hmm.

the air being drawlen into the tents to replace what u take out .........u need to have a filter box with a lvl 7 or higher filter in it or prep the room removing the smell/moldslfungi/virus/

the air has the smell in it the spores and all the other bad stuff ......u have to seal it off or using a intake air filter for the tent

the rest of it
1000w is perfect .....cooltube (this normally means a 6 inch ducting so that is 400cfms on a inline fan 240 on a booster unit)
that is a good amount of air u are dumping out ......the fact it is in a deep set basement is great your natural Co2 lvls should be 700 or even 1000ppm if enough ppl live there.....but u dumping all that out means the air has to come from somewhere (every crack every opening) this is going to completely alter the whole air flow in your house and basement

so all those areas that were getting a weak air flow before (collecting the pollen spores dust) will now be drawling air at a increased rate dislodging what has been collected over the years......if u a humid area it can increase the places/rate of growth of mold too

not trying to be a jack ass to u man ......just want to help u get the best smoke u can (it is how i improve my skills ) this is a old problem i have helped a few friends with

got little envy on the fact u have a nice deep basement like that .......your Co2 natural is going to be great (lower cost better plants)

Sorry, I took it as insults to my area. I will have air intake filters, don't worry. lol. Since, you mentioned all that, got me thinking. I will probably go down there today and completely, vapor barrier the walls, and ceiling in the room my tent is being made inside of! Thanks!

before u put it up .........hit the walls with a 50/50 mix of bleach and water let it dry out (if water does get in it will mix with the residue of the bleach hopefully killing anything before it starts)

yea like in a window cleaning bottle or even in a pump sprayer they use for doing lawns

u just want to do a light coating ......as the water evaporates it leaves the chemical crystal be hide on the wall .......like powdered bleach then when the water mixes with it it is bleach again and kills any spore /bad thing
