23days flower with the CXB200
Up to this point I am impressed with the coverage area and even intensity across canopy with 200ish watts from wall and the plant seems to like the 3000K 80cri emitters. Growth has been outstanding. Ive had to tie this one down much more than times past.IMG_0799.JPG

Inner canopy has been cleaned up and mains have been tied down 3times in last 3weeks to open up sites and maintain even canopy. Trunk is heavy on the this plant. I soaked seed and raised in rapid rooter. She likes to eat now 6 to 8 times during a light cycle with Botanicare Pure Blend Pro and all supplements.

Looking good Jimmy. You definitely have your method working for you! I'm still trying to find one that works for me, but I'm in that early part of the learning curve where I'll change too many variables at once, and lose the "science" part of knowing what impact each changed aspect has. Luckily no matter how much I've messed up, so far I've had more than enough medicine for my patient, so its all good. It just could be, better...

Are u tying down and using 90+watt Vero29/CXB3590s?
What are ya using as a bloom booster?
And thanks man! I cant wait to see what 4 these CXB200s will do in a 5 x 5?

No, I'm using Cree 3070's running at about 50 watts each (DIY). They are in a 2x4 tent, and there are (2) 5000k (CXA), (2) 4000k (CXA), and (4) 3000k (CXB). I am currently running the 5000/4000, and plan to switch to 4000/3000 at flower. After this run I'm going to run two plants in that space, but at the moment I have three, so it looks like that's what I'm going with this time, it'll be a little crowded but I think it'll be OK...

When I mentioned before switching up multiple variables, its because this is the first grow that will go start to finish with that light, and I'm also experimenting with different soil mixes (and I just moved from a closet to a tent, but I'm not sure how much of a learning curve that really has). I had been using all soil (FFOF base, with other stuff added), now I'll be mixing coco/perlite/soil, but so far using the same nutes -- Fox Farms (time release) and and GH Gro/Bloom. Nothing special really, but I'm not out to win any competitions, just trying to produce consistent awesome meds in decent quantities.

I'm on my 4th indoor grow cycle, always had two spaces per cycle. Lately I've been doing a few plants under a scrog (long story, I overcrowded them), and then one plant alone in the other space (2x2.5 with (2) Optic 120's). The one growing alone is simply better in every conceivable way. Less is more, sometimes. For the ones I have started now, I'm debating whether to tie them down to the edges of the pots like you do, or use tomato cages for both tie points and additional support. They are currently just teens vegging, so I have some time to figure it out.

Try tying one down week 1 thru week 3 and those little buds down branches will go upright and turn into big buds.
I personally have to use 90 to 120watt COBs w/optics because anything under that and I either have to trim the plant way to far up or its airy buds middle /down.

I can see that. In the one room where I've been growing the plant taller, I harvest it in two waves -- top buds first and then lower the lights and then another wave later. But I (usually) have time to do that, not everyone does. Nice that you brought this up though, I'll rethink the tomato cages, they would get in the way of lowering the lights, I hadn't really thought it through.

Maybe that's why so many of the DIY'ers who are not using lenses seem to use scrogs. Force the canopy as wide and short as possible, and the lack of penetration from having more COBs running softer will still produce. Since I've learned how to build my DIY light from that tribe, I should probably look to their growing methods for the best success.

Ive been getting behind little with most my time going toward CXB200/Vero240 over last few months.I had some small GoldenCobras and Orca to finish off with the Optics and Heavenbright before The Blue Dreams,Green Cracks,BlackBerryOg are vegged and ready.
IMG_1257.JPGIve found that the heavenbright V2 works the best with COB pulled to each side of chassis with reflector on over 2plants

Jimmy, I appreciate your honesty and full disclosure on cob "penetration".
Basically, lower powered cobs may pound out the lm/watt but are they more on par with T5's for flowering?

My Veros have excellent penetration!!!

Was so thrilled to see the internode spacing on the plants beneath them.

I was a skeptic.. now a believer!

Very hard to beat intensity from 100watt CXB3590s and 120watt vero29
I do think optic runs there CXB3590 little to hard at 120 or did? I don't know if they still offer the 120watt CXB3590s?

I don't think they are as of now. The website is back online.. bunch of models missing, including mine.. which upset me as I clearly stated to them when ordering and after the fact in a separate email.. "I'm going to give this model a try, and if it performs well..order one or two more." They could have let me know my model was being discontinued weeks later.. it was a little unsettling. The light is great.. but the whole 2 month order process, return, problem, problem, problem thing I experienced with them was terrible. Not to mention when they had their phones and email shut off.. ughhh.. I sat with a broken item in a box for 12 days before I could even reach someone. It was a huge pain in the ass to buy this light from them.. but alas.. I have one.. in working condition.

Next light... DIY method. I'm not going through that again. I paid almost $1k for peace of mind.. and simplicity from ordering from a company who would build, deliver, and back a product with a warranty.. any hopes of peace of mind and simplicity went straight out the window when their phone was disconnected.

I tried to get ahold of them recently about ordering another light.. the only way I could reach them.. through Amazon.

Just doesn't sit right with me the way they are doing things.

What if my light shit the bed? Then what.. send out an email through Amazon and hope someone gets back a week later? It's bullshit.

Great light tho.. LOL.
