how can I assure I am root bound? time spent in the pot?

my girls have been in 7 gallon smart pots since Aug 18th. and I just flipped them on Oct 17th.

so a little over 2 months.

any way I can check to make sure I am or not. don't wanna transplant being that I am currently in flower and cause any stress.. plus I don't have larger pots on hand I will have to go out and purchase a few.

There has been three times I transplanted in flowering period and it just stalls for a few days an that's it..
After that the plants seemed happier and praying, tho its not ideal.
As for hermie some plants/ strains you could cough next to and they become shemales but most should get happier having more space.
That's from my three experience's I would wait for OG growers.

The main reason for fabric pots,is to stop "root bound "

I use 7 & 10 gal fabric pots, veg is long on most(8 weeks plus) never have I got root bound, but when plants get that big, they eat a lot more...I bet that's all, that's going on with your plant.

Yes if you look at a plant that's been in a fabric side pot for awhile you'll see the roots do not encircle the bottom of the root ball like they would in a hard bottom container. Rather they just stop growing there & branch off to grow another way. It's air pruning but that doesn't mean you shouldn't transplant if you've got a long enough time left to bloom.

Yeah then I'd go ahead & put her in a bigger pot with fresh mix. Otherwise that root ball could get hard as rock by mid flower forcing you to overwater. Sprinkle some mycorrizea in the hole to help grow them buds out fat & juicy.

since it's late in the whole grow? what kind of soil? one, I don't have bigger pots so will have to get some and two, don't have soil mixed.. I have about 3 cubic feet of super soil that's been cooking for some time but since im up potting that won't even fill three pots and I have 4 plants. get me? lol can I just do some peat lime ewc and perlite and hit them with teas for the next month?

I grow in 7 gallon pots and usually veg for 60+ days with 60+ day flower and mine have never become rootbound. I also use subs super soil recipe. Long story longer, i dont think you need to transplant.

Sure you can; didn't realize you are already in 7g pots. Should be fine in those sorry to suggest otherwise
