Im not part of the rosin tech groups and such :-/ I just wonder more so if it is worth using the clamp and if so, what plate sizes to use.it is on the book of faces
Thank you.some companies still understand customer service.
We already switched to 4mm pockets instead of 5mm to allow for better thermal transfer from coil to platens for exactly the reasons you mention. c'est la viewell the problem I encountered with the plates, is they are not milled perfectly to the size of the coil, which is hard becuase the coils vary in size themselves, so there is a bit of a air in the milled out area, the coils are loose inside, they do have a set screw so they don't fall out. but in actuality the coils only touch the plate in a few areas on the inside which makes it heating up through conduction difficult. so it is heating up by heating the air in the gap and that heat transfers to the plate. This was my experience with these plates and the e nail as the heating device. This is why I have scraped that route and i am looking into probes, so I can drill a hole the size of the probe and have a better fit and heat more accurately. In the conversation I had with them, they said "You'll need to build a reference chart for your individual PID to know what to set it on" basically you set it to 300 on the pid and it will be 150 on the plates.
I can't see it,I don't have permission :-\ must be part of the closed group.can you see that one war?
he has hand clamp like yours no plates
Does standing on it really work? I feel like I would break it lol , maybe I am fatter than othersI wonder how long it will last then, When I use the clamp I got great results as well But it only lasted about 8 to 10 clamps lol. Maybe with this new one I got, like yours, it will be able to withstand the force.
I really hope I don't break another one so soon though lol. If I do, back to body weight I go.
Oh yes it works pretty damn well I'd say. I'm 6'2 205lbs (210lbs now with the holidays coming lol) and no problems whatsoever. I know @hyroot I believe is 230lbs and has no problems as well.Does standing on it really work? I feel like I would break it lol , maybe I am fatter than others
ok so what is up with these am I missing something?

SMART!Has anyone tried this with a lab press? Theyusually have top and bottom 6x6 heated steal platens that go between 150f and 500f and incorporate a 12 ton hydraulic clamp. With the math equation twitch provided thats 733 pounds per square inch.
sure for 15 to 20 grand,lolSMART!
Carver Auto Series automatic hydraulic laboratory presses feature an enhanced "NE" digital control system. Offering 15 to 48 tons of clamping force (minimum 1,000 lbs). Work area of 6" x 6" to 18" x 18" platens. These benchtop presses are typically used in quality control, research and development for test sample preparations, destructive testing, molding, laminating and fluid extraction.
The new "NE" controls feature full touch screen interface with a proximity switch for adjustable slowdown position. Platen heat is controlled through the PLC on heated models and selection for auto reheat at end of cycle is provided. Platen temperature values may be entered in degrees Fahrenheit or Celsius and the display can easily be switched between the two units. Either force or temperature mode may be chosen per segment. Clamp force values may be entered in pounds, kilograms, US tons or metric tons and the display can easily be switched between units.
Carver Auto Series Presses also have two hand "anti-tie-down" close buttons and an interlocked safety enclosure with hinged door are provided for operator safety. This programmable control system has storage capacity of 10 recipes, each segmented recipe is capable of 20 programmable setpoints of: clamp force, cure time, platen temperature and bump (automatic bump sequence may be programmed in any or all segments). A self-contained 1/4 HP hydraulic unit. See below table for press specifications.
Yeah brand new they are extremely expensive. Used ones are closer to $3000 which makes them expensive for making your own rosin but for people in the industry doing it all day it maybe worth. Same company joe dank mentioned makes a non automated one with hand crank similiar to a jack for 2995.00 with the dual platessure for 15 to 20 grand, lol
