What should i expect a better yield from covering a 4x8 growing SOG style. A 1k on a mover or 2 stationary 600W lights.

KISS.

If it moves by itself it will frigging break sooner or later or have some kind of issue.
Well, that's not to say a good light mover couldn't be made. However most of the movers I've seen aren't the highest quality. Since you're in a tent, there isn't going to be a good way to secure the rails anyhow IMO.

Either way, a single 1kw bulb is going to emit less photons than a pair of 600w bulbs. Better off just buying the 600w bulbs.

Plus if one bulb goes you still have light coverage. Especially during flower.

I'd buy ballasts that run all wattage and the two types of lamps, this leaves you room to move up to 1kw lamps or down to 400 watt lamps.
I'd put wtfever I decide on a rail no matter how small the movement {if it's at least a foot}.
But then that's just me.
