My last results show drying issues

Hi people,
It's been a while,
So, I am just an amateur grower and I need some advice concerning those last harvests I made, that gave me unsatisfying results. My weed won't lit when rolled in paper. I kept it drying for 2 weeks, and put it in jars for another couple of weeks. It doesn't even grind normally ( I had to use a knife cause the grinder was just messing up my stuff).
I don't know if it's the process during the last days before harvest that made it happen, or if it's curing method... or
I faced this problems twice now, and I don't wanna screw up this time.
Thnx people !!

I can't dry mine in the summer here unless I add a dehumidifier. You might need a fan or a dehumidifier ..depending on what the climate is like by you...

You must flush your plants with water if you can, 3 to 5 days, they will light up better, also dry your plants properly for about 5 days then put it in jars to cure, put a Boveda pack in each jar ( important) it will cure the buds perfectly without you having to worry about to damp or to dry.
Good luck

I've seen one of those, and I should say, they're really useful.
Please, this thing that people say about flushing the plants during the last couple of days in order to get better results lighting up the product, is it true ?
Thnx again

People have been arguing about that ( flush-no flush) for as long as I joined this site.

The humidity is what's fuckin ya up.. Once the humidity is above 58-59% ... The plants don't dry .. Its virtually impossible to properly dry your crop outdoors.

The funny thing about where I live the relative humidity stays around 70-90 or above. Especially during the fall when moisture hangs around and you're struggling to figure out how to bring that down. You could use natural dehumidifiers like rice or salt. I don't mean put these on your buds but if you have a box that is sealable, put your buds in one jar and the drying agent in another. If you got a barometer, maybe a friend or someone...? Keep it in the box where you can see it. The humidity could change a bit but should be done slowly!!!. If you use salt, you should use rock salt. My advice to you is to take your salt and split half in an oven safe dish and cook it for about an hour at 300F degrees. Then turn off the oven. Let it cool a few hours and then put it in the box directly don't open the oven during the cooling process. Your other salt can wait until the salt you put in the box feels filmy. Like sweat. Repeat until your buds have some desired dryness. Rice works well this way but go easy on the temp in the oven, maybe 275f. I dry my hearing aids this way by emergency and other electronics. The careful thing though is that if any of these give off a smell or salt if it has iodine in it don't use it.
Look for iodine free salt.

What do you run the dehumidifier at? Do you gradually lower it...or, for example, set it at 60%rh and let it cycle a few days?
Thanks.

I hang for 10-15 days with no fan or dehumidifier... Then after I trim em they go in the room with the dehumidifier for a day... The Dehumidifier is set @ 50% ... Then its bagged or jarred .

you're prolly sealing it up with too much moisture.

keep burping the jars daily or leave lids off in dehumidified room.

^^Agreed^^ - if you're unable to keep it lit, it's still too wet and needs to dry some more. Dump your buds in a paper bag, throw in a hygrometer and take an initial reading. If it's still 68% - 70%, they let dry in paper bag for about 8 hours with bag folded over once. Then take another RH% reading. Assuming you've dropped RH in the bag down to about 60 - 62%, put back in the jars. Repeat daily until the RH in the jar stays steady at around 62%. The firm texture you're waiting for WILL develop once you dry and cure properly.
