@Flaming Pie What Remember this? "Retired neurosurgeon and Republican presidential candidate Ben Carson stated that the argument that Planned Parenthood is obtaining fetal tissue for important medical research is “spurious” because “there’s nothing that can’t be done without fetal tissue” on Thursday’s “Kelly File” on the Fox News Channel. [Breitbart]" Remember how he's donated fetal tissue? And how he had to back peddle on that one hard?

Like I said, he may be a brilliant neurosurgeon, but I don't think he's quite cut out for an Executive office. Moreover serving on a board and being an executive officer of a corporation are two very different things.

I was merely pointing out that he has served on the boards of companies for 16years and runs a fund for the underprivileged.

If people would READ and LISTEN they would learn that you can't judge a book by its cover.
I've served on a few boards for non-profits, none of them I would say make me directly qualified to run for an office.

In Article II of the Constitution, thepresident's qualifications and powers are detailed. In order to be considered for the office, a presidential candidate must be at least 35 years old, a natural-born U.S. citizen, and have at least 14 years of residence in the United States.

Hmmmm....

Yes anyone over 35 who's a natural citizen and has had residency for 14 can be considered but is every 35 year old natural citizen with 14 residency qualified?

I am asking you what you think should be "required" of presidential candidates.
I think there are many and this is why historically candidates have gone on campaigns. To be a candidate does not mean one is automatically deserving. Long public and governmental service would probably help since it is a governmental position. Many people tout outsiders and such but let's say for example if a corporation wants a new CEO am I automatically qualified to be a CEO? If so sign me up I could use a multi million dollar paycheck lol. Now that I answered you will you answer me?

They seem more familiar with all of our foreign affairs than the average american. Which is what carson touts himself as, just a well achieved one. But my problem is none of those achievements are from a political career as @pnwmystery said.
Can't claim to be the best candidate for NBA mvp when you have never stepped foot on the court (sorry basketball analogy seemed appropriate given I am currently at a NBA preseason game)

@Flaming Pie you never addressed the glaring hypocrisy of Dr carson'S stance on planned parenthood and fetal tissue research?

Ever notice how all the dumb shits are in the liberal art classes like poli sci and the smart guys are in science, eng and technical disciplines?

How difficult can it be to learn to schmooze and lie? Carson certainly won't be any worse at the job than the current knuckle head.

What did you get a degree in?

"It is no secret that the ranks of scientists and engineers in the United States include dismal numbers of Hispanics and African-Americans, but few have remarked about another significantly underrepresented group: Republicans.

No, this is not the punch line of a joke. A Pew Research Center Poll from July 2009 showed that only around 6 percent of U.S. scientists are Republicans; 55 percent are Democrats, 32 percent are independent, and the rest "don't know" their affiliation."

So the smart people vote Democrat, cool. ;)
