Buying my box today. What kind of intake/outake fans?

Builing a box 4' wide, 4' long, 6.5' tall.

Only thing im confused on is the fans. What type of intake and outtake fans should I get? I know that since the outtake is pushing thru a carbon scrubber it will need a special rating. I dont remember what that rating was called tho.

Also should I get a higher CFM for outtake ?

And where on the box should I position these? Im using a hot metal hallide. I would think its best for overall ventilation to have the intake at the bottom on the opposite side of the outtake, which would be up top. But would it be just as good if I put the intake up high to blow on the light?

do you have a reflector with places to attach ducting? I JUST set up a sun box yesterday and heres what i did. I'm hovering around 83-84 degrees F with light on and 80 without. Its just fucking hot here right now, so i think i wont really be changing much as the temps will get much lower for most of the year (pretty far north)

I only use 1 fan for the setup. Its a 6" vortex, something like 450 cfm. I have that attached to ducting which is attached to 1 side of the HPS so the exhaust for the grow box sucks through one end of the HPS and out the box. There are places built in to the sunbox I have to let air in via suction. with only a 4 degree differenced with the light on/off, id say this is a pretty good system. Here are some pics and good luck! I hope I helped a little!

Im doing it cheap style. Buying wood at home depot and buildint it. Getting mylar to reflect. So maybe with a 450 cfm fan I dont need another fan? Just a hole maybe?

I inherited the bulb and the ballast. I know its MH but the wattage is unknown. The ballast comes with a metal box that leads to the power. First time I ran this, I plugged it into a power strip that has a 400w tolerance along with a regular oscilating fan. It partially melted where the power strip met the timer. Im guessing its 400 watt or more. It does that thing where when it powers on it lights up, then gets brighter about a minute later.

wow, your crazy to even atempt this without knowing what the wattages are. holly shit dude thats a fire waiting to happen, guaranteed.
the power strip has nothing to do with that its the light and ballast.
you need to take it in and have it tested to see what the wattage of the ballast is before you do anything

For sure you want to upgrade to commercial quality 15 amp+ power strips bro. Outdoor types work well.

You want 3 times the volume of your box in CFM rating to exhaust, so you want 309+ CFM rated fan. It might be cheaper to get two 150 CFM fans tho, whatever you fancy.
