I am looking for a cheap 1000 watt HPS kit if you have had good result with a certain brand let me know
I usually avoid eBay but I just bought an iPower digital system on there. 400-watt with both bulbs, reflector and ballast with nice ratchet rope hangers for $98 delivered. They had the option for 600-watt and 1000-watt setups as well. So far it works great. Dimmable too.

if your looking for in store purchases. htg supply will probably have the cheapest new 1k that you can hold in your hands before buying (I hate buying online).

they have a lot of stores on the eastern side of the country. last time I was there I saw 250,400,1000 watt kits for 119.99$. includes ballast, reflector, socket/cord, and bulb (the ones that came with my 400s from there were enhanced spectrum bulbs).

they also have a website that reflects in store prices.

I got 2 "Apollo Horticulture" kits from Amazon. Dimmable Ballast, hood, 2 bulbs, hangers. One is nearly 3 years old, the second is just over 1 year old. No problems.

Probably the same type of set-up as Hot Rod.

High Tech Garden supply has the cool feature of selling you a complete package, but allowing you to upgrade or leave out parts you want or don't want.

I hate ordering online as well but with price and variety a factor most local stores wont compete.

Just looking to save some money my last 600 cost me about 400 thanks for all the great replies
