Yes my friend. I chose the ideal cob holders. I just saw a video on youtube where Ideal shows how to install the cob into the holder, how to connect and disconnect wire from the cob holder and how to remove the cob from the holder. I believe that I saw recommendations for agw to use for connecting the cobs but will have to revisit it before I could quote it. I believe that the gages you have suggested are within the reccomendations.

Cobs are cree led lights such as the cxb3590 or the cxa3070, google it before you spend boat loads of cashCan you explain COBS?

Socket style lights are very very weak,, just like CFL's are very weak,, and by the time you spend lots of money on 20 or 30 cfl bulbs you then have TOO much HEAT build up,
if you want "great yeilds",, no light for under 400 dollars will do that,, you are sorely going to be dissapointed,,, the only way to get a GOOD LIGHT for under 400 is to build it yourself from CREE COBS,, and yes cobs are individual diodes, but they are BIG , and put out LOTS of light
