Putin moves in, tells Obama to get the hell outta the way, bombs questionable targets in Syria.

Lol, liberals are small, dumb animals.

As usual, if a lib is talking, they're lying.

Never said it and what she actually said was 100% correct.

Good call.

"So it is that one of the quotes most strongly associated with former Alaska governor and 2008 Republican vice-presidential nominee Sarah Palin is the exclamation "I can see Russia from my house!" even though she didn't actually utter that phrase during the campaign."

Back in the early days, not unlike the Democratic party, SNL was great with players like John Belusi, Gilda Radner, Bill Murray, Steve Martin, Garrett Morris, Dennis Miller (now with Bill O'Reilly), Chevy Chase, Dan Akroyd, etc. Come the 90's it went to hell, as did the party.

On the 2nd day of Russian bombings they targeted Ahrar al-Sham, the main component of the Islamic Front who are fighting ISIS. Granted, though, that the Islamic Front is a Sunni Islamist group that wants to overthrow Assad, create an Islamic state, and have Sharia law under a Majlis-ash-Shura (think Iran's Supreme Council, just Sunni instead of Shia). Also according to opposition news sources the Russians did bomb the town of Al Shedadi which is in ISIL controlled territory.

"The new round of strikes on Thursday — conducted with two models of Soviet-era warplanes, the Su-25 Frogfoot and Su-24 Fencer — was said by Mayadeen, a pro-Damascus news channel, to target the Army of Conquest, a coalition of insurgent groups that includes the Al Qaeda-affiliated Nusra Front, the hard-line Islamist group Ahrar al-Sham and a range of less extreme Islamist groups — all of which are opposed to the Islamic State.

Russian officials nonetheless insisted that they had hit four “objects of the Islamic State” in the provinces of Idlib, Hama and Homs. The Islamic State is most active in areas significantly to the east of those regions. Russia, like Mr. Assad, has tended to make little distinction among the many insurgent groups in Syria’s four-year-old civil war."

This is going to be interesting for Russia. Their Muslim population is largely Sunni and from the North Caucus region (Chechens, Ingush, Kabardin, Karachay, and Dagestani), and also from the Volga basin ( Tatars and Bashkirs) while they're siding with the Shias in Syria. Only 5% of the Russian Muslim population is Shia.

Russia is bombing the Syrian rebels( Obama's allies ) to clear way for Iranian ground troops
Everybody wins except Obama. The only people he is good at pushing around are weak republicans

Another thing I realized about why Putin is doing this: He's thumbing his nose at Washington (not necessarily Obama, if you read his rhetoric he's saying that the best way to prevent terrorism is to preemptively strike, i.e. he's citing the "Bush Doctrine" of preemptive war), and there are a lot of Chechens who fought against the Russian government that are now in Syria fighting against the Syrian government that the Russians can bomb. Also Ukraine and MH17 have fallen out of the news cycle in regards to this.

However I'm completely fine with Russia turning this into their version of Iraq/Afghanistan Redux, and I'm highly surprised that the Republicans in here are just happy that somehow Putin is "showing up Obama." The Russian economy is already on the downturn, if they engage heavily into Syria it'll make things work. We can afford to fight in Afghanistan and Iraq, the Russians cannot afford a conflict like that, nor can Iran afford to get into a protracted fight.

Furthermore isn't anyone worried that Putin isn't targeting Daesh, but other groups? Or are the Republicans once again against anything that has to do with Obama because it's simply Obama? They're currently bombing rebel groups that are fighting ISIS, i.e. they're giving ISIS a break.

Where the hell is Obama? Still learning while the world is burning...
He has enough time to make his way to the podium and talk about how much he hates gun rights,
but is speechless when he sees his foreign policy unravel in front of his ignorant face.
It's like Obama has always likely said,
"speak loudly and carry a broken stick"

Do you want us to engage more heavily into Syria against Assad's forces?

Assad is the only reason why tens of thousands of Christians in Syria are not being slaughtered right now.
Not to mention he has allies that will support him militarily, and we have Obama. Perhaps one day when we have a new commander in chief I would say "take out Assad", but not right now.

Obama drew the infamouns "red line" with Assad regarding use of chemical weapons and then never acted, remember that blunder?

"This is a puzzler. How can the president say he did not create a “red line” when his statement last year about a “red line” is one of the most famous statements of his presidency? We’ve certainly received many tweets and e-mails from readers eager to see The Fact Checker slap a bunch of Pinocchios on him."

The whole entire reason we are over there messing with Assad is so a pipe-line can be run from the Arab Emirites to port. By doing this, a monopoly on European natural gas held by Russia is busted. Not only does it help our so-called allies like Saudi, it hurts Russia (our government's true enemy). Putin knows what is happening and now is in a position to put a stop to it once and for all. That is why he has supported Iran and Syria in the first place, they are blocking the pipe-line.

Just out of interest, for a second imagine Assad is Obama...

What would the American president do if there were US-citizen rebels attacking the US military and trying to take over the country by force?

That's easy.
They'd just shut cities down like they did in Boston and beat the living shit out of, arrest or kill anyone who stepped out of line.

Drone the piss out of them.
Send in some fighter jets
Maybe some ground troops to clear out those pesky militia sorts

Yup, the general public would be fucked and wouldn't stand a chance.

Yet that causes outrage when Assad does it and asks his friends to help...
