How long to go - Any Advice

Hey guys, i have just signed up to this forum, I grow in an indoor tent under 600watt lights my set up is fairly decent i would say but could anyone tell me how long they would say i have left, and when i should expect my buds to sort of form together properly and get big, take a look at my plants they are White Widow and they are going into day 1 of week 6 flowering today, im not sure if they look good to you guys or not, and if i can expect them to sort of double or triple in size from where they are at now as i have read up that they usually start budding alot more around weeks 7-8 to give a lot more yield

Also the picture shows the hairs to look orangey coloured that is just the light all the hairs are completely white none have even slightly turned colour as of yet!

Hi Steven85, They look Great, I also use 600watt systems I run 3 of them and I know around 6 weeks like you say they may only have 2 to 3 weeks left in there cycle, They look Indica so I would say 8 to 9 weeks max for them to be done, they look great and you should notice more growth in the next week, I myself like to take some of those leaves in the way from the bottom and middle so the ladies get light to lower flowers, all in all they are very nice and you should be very happy, Good Luck and keep up the good work.

the hairs (pistils) are not what you should be watching, it is the trichomes you want to monitor. if you dont already have one, invest $15 or so on a little jewlers microscope.
all strains are gonna vary, but the breeder usually will tell you aprx flowering time, anywher fom 8-12 weeks.
you are watching for them to turn amber in color, and to cloud up in appearence. let me know if ya got any more questions

Hey guys thanks for the positive feedback to 'the lemon' these are white widow which is were i think most of that frost comes from but my friend has grown a few grows and he says his have never looked as good which made me chuckle (but only when he left) haha! Too bear i have took a good slice of their leaves off but i see you are right there is a lot more but was a little worried about over doing it due to shocking them? to greenthumbs mcgee, the amount this has cost to set up am surprised the plants dont bloody talk and tell us when there ready but point taken i will invest in one of them although most people who dont do say when the (pistils) have turned an orange/brown colour say 50% to 70% then its time to pull them!

Just Be gentle with them, I do it all the time Pinch them off right by the stem, just don't do a bunch in one day I usally do it over the weeks in flower and it does not seem to bother them, they look just wonderfull I have to say.

Trust green thumbs Mcgee, check your trichomes...a lot of buds will still spit out white pistils even right beforechop, it is not reliable like trichomes (sometimes that vary even too, but better of a sense then orange hairs) you don't want to pull them a week early (they will fatten more and more near the end) after all that hard work, and to get them early and screw your yield and high, is very annoying for newer growers.....

Thanks guys when looking at (trichomes) what am i looking for exactly, and what colours mean what exactly? and bear that does look good ill take that advice and snip a few of each plant each day!

Also im wanting to change my seeds for my next grow, my mates are all keen on blue cheese or haze i was thinking maybe a blueberry, could you guys suggest a nice smoke, with High Yield and average Flowering time to try on my next grow please..

Also my Grow tent is in my garage it is now down to about 9degrees on a night in my part of the world although my tent has good heating and when lights are on its hitting 26-27 degrees and lights off drops to around 20 degrees which i know is all fine but the humidity is always around 60% very rare its higher but very rare its lower, i do have a dehumidyfier in there but doesnt help although it is a bit crappy, any suggestions, bugger humidifier? more outake, less intake? or will 60 be fine it does creep to 50% and 40s when soil is quite dry but up to 60s when i feed and the 24hrs after feed

When the trichs 1st form in the earlyy stages, they appear very clear in appearance. As it enters the ripening stage, they will start to cloud up. Then finally, before harvest some should be ambering in color, like rootbeer or molasas. you only want about 10% amber trichs. It is good to listen to the specific breeder as well, to estimate things.
See, when you have a bud that is earlier in flowering, the trichs are gonna be clear, now this, when smoked will pack a more cerebral high, and opposite when you have a really matue bud, its gonna lean more on the body high. So as you progress and dial in personal prefrence, and strain recommendations, you can really manipulate the kind of high yr smoke will produce.
now, strain is obviously the final word on the majority of where it lies, in terms of cerebral vs body high.
i hope i helped. i'd suggest googling some pics of "trichomes ready to harvest" or something along those lines.

Im currently running ghost train haze#1 from rare dankness, very awesome strain. Highly recommend it.
I'm gonna let someone else tackle the temp/humidity questions, as where i live it stays just where i need it to be for the most part, so its not a problem i have been faced with...

Hi Bear420, How are you, I have taken about 10 to 15 more leaves of each plant tonight mainly the main ones blocking the light at the middle and lower end of my plant, unluckily as moving about i did put a minor break in a big cola which was not clever but its still standing tall so im hoping it repairs itself, anyway ive uploaded more pics to show you the progress of that! See what you think mate

Not familiar with curing so any advice on that would be great, i was going to just chop them down, then hang them up in my grow tent with my intake and outake still on and normal fans still running for around 7 to 10 days then i was going to chop buds off and pop them into glass jars and remove the lid every day for an hour or so to get fresh air into them and that was it?

Am i anywere near haha!

Also how would i know when i am in the last 2 weeks to harvest thats the part im finding hard to get my head around as these trichs seem to turn from clear to cloudy to amber fairly quickly right? so how would i know, im only in my 3rd day of week 6 flower now so i am hoping i have a good 2 weeks left of flower before flushing as im hoping these buds double in size in this period to give me a lot better yield i hope that the case anyway?

Curing, just google "a perfect cure everytime" tons of info. one suggestion for burping yr jars....get a $8 digital rh meter to put in yr jar, and if it goes above 70%, open it up for a few min, then do it llike that until it holds at aprx 65%... they go into it further, but you put the work in thus far, dont want to screw it up on the last step, and you can, so read read read. Watch for any signs of mold. This can happen if put in jars to wet. Now, dont let me scare you, because you need some moisture in the bud to do a proper cure. All curing is, is slowly releasing the moisture outta yr flowers. It is a balancing act my friend. Experience will be the best teacher.
I personally hang, for 3-5 days, in dark, light air. Nothing direct, just not stagnet air. Hang until you can hear and feel the stem snap, instead of bend, then i move to a tote with lid half on to allow air, it is here for 24 hrs or so, then into jars with rh meter. If ýr % shoots sky high in a matter of minutes, its still to wet, so back to the tote it goes. I do this until i'm satisfied with the rh%... then its just a matter of looking at yr jar, reading yr %'s, and if they are high, pop em, they are good, leave em,.. it gets easy after getting a few grows under yr belt.
Idk wat strain you have goin, and if you dont know also, you will just have to look at pictures online showin ripe trichs, kinda compare notes...
If yr just absolutely stumped still, id suggest 10 wks is a good average. So 8 wks, flush 2 more, if the trichs are still not starting to amber, let it go longer. I never asked, wat line nutrient you running?

White widow, if it were me, i would give them 11 total weeks man. plan to Start yr flush around wk 9, and then ph'd water to wk 11, chop.
*BUT!!! You should use this as an estimate, you purchased yr scope, so use it and start getting familiar with what the trichs are doing, and how long they take to ripen, etc.
i'd say 11 weeks should yeild a very nice little amount of herbage
lets see some updated pics since i'm along for the ride!

Hey matey, hope you are well, great info by the way, i am growing in coco soil from canna, and im using all canna nutrients being coco A&B , Rhizotonic, Cannazym, Cannaboost and i am going by Cannas Grow Guide which to be honest has not let me down thus far, i will make sure i run these to week 9 and flush for 7 to 10 days thereafter so i can pull them before 1st November as im away for 10 days after then, i will upload more pics tomorrow and each week so we can all see the progress, they already have some big buds on at the minute so im hoping to get a good few ounce a plant and i see no reason why i shouldnt looking at the size of them now at week 6

They look just great, the one you accidently cut the cola should be fine i have did that a few times too what I did was use a tie and tie it back up so i stood normal still and it was fine, Your ladies look just great Keep up the good work my friend you are going to be very happy if your not already got to love it.
