low ph tap water

Low ph tap water around 4.0 costing me to use alot of ph up every feeding any other suggestions would a water purifier raise my ph?

wow.. that's really low... That doesn't even sound healthy to drink.. Are you sue your meter is correct? Maybe check with your water authority. They have to publish stats on the quality. Wish I had an answer... I doubt it would raise the PH. Might have to buy water.

^^^ yes that does seem low for well water. Kind of like drinking lemons lol. Most well water PH is higher than needed from what I've read, like around 7, thats what mine is .

I suspect a false reading or an error. A pH of 4.0 would eat pipes and fixtures fast. Carbon filters would do nothing for that.

Hmmm i just got a new ph meter i will buy another and find out

I usually get an initial reading of 8.3 and yesterday I tested it @ 6.1 my city is removing flouride and this must be a side effect.pH is short for Hydrogen ppm.

My tap ph is 7. It only takes a small amount of ph down to get it in the 6.0-6.5 range.

Yes definitely check and recalibrate your pen. Seems impossible your tap would produce 4.0 ph water. Take the cheap route. Go out and get the test strips or bottle tester and compare it to that.

I already bought a ph meter on ebay the right one this time i have to go by the ph coloring liquid for now

Ph of 4 would reek havoc on basically everything with water in it in your house in a hurry including you ........just get a 10 dollar gh kit and it will let you know I doubt 4 though friend
