^^^^ This is good advise. Have a pen, boots, whatever tools needed to go to work that moment.this works for me every time. Pick twenty places to drop off a resume. Go into them and ask to speak with the boss. Dress nicely and tell them your ready to do anything and can start immediately. Out of twenty you will get at least one, sometimes two or three. Pick the best one. It only takes one day. And dont dress like a tupac wannabe. Thank me later.

not necessarily true, ive have plenty of jobs through online applicationsMost places will tell you to go online and fill out an aplication on the website. This is usually a waste of time. Its better to go places and talk to someone to see if they are actually hiring. If they say go online, they are probably just turning you down but trying to be nice about it. And dont go when they are busy. If your looking at resteraunts go between lunch and dinner.

its just the company uses online applications as a better way to categorize and organized their hiring process, it leaves an electronic trail rather than paper, it may also mean the hiring management do not live in that specific town or are there enough inorder to look at paper resumes.
