Ever switch back to the MH for that finishing? I hope to mimic what you have done here this grow except but will augment HPS with t5 uv/blues.13/11 first two weeks (MH/BLUE)
12/12 for a month (HPS)
11/13 for the finish (temps drop at this time)
yo Brave dave i thrown out all my MH lights pretty much i have done some mh grows start to finish mixed and straight hps you know what MH with out a doubt throw out more leafs no different then that small plant i flowered mid summer lots of leafsEver switch back to the MH for that finishing? I hope to mimic what you have done here this grow except but will augment HPS with t5 uv/blues.
I've never got around to finishing up with my blue's late in flower. I try to conserve whatever life i can out of them bulbs to minimize buying more as i only grow for myself. I've heard many times about finishing with them, when i start growing the same strains yearly i might give that a try for comparison. I can definetly say though, with confidence that the MH at 13/11 sure kept them shorter then using the HPS. it also seems that 11/13 at the end of flower, seemed to have made my random bag seeds swell up around a week quicker then the same beans in my 12/12 cabs. Still experimenting here thoughEver switch back to the MH for that finishing? I hope to mimic what you have done here this grow except but will augment HPS with t5 uv/blues.
What made you think of doing that anyway? Seems like an odd thing to just think of out of the blue. I only knew about it from an experiment I read once. I did post about it in a forum years ago though. Maybe somebody read it and tried it and spread the word. Or did you just randomly think of it? Maybe you're psychic and the plants were telepathically saying "turn the light off for an hour in the middle of the light cycle, it will make us happy".I do 5on, 1off, 6on, 12off. Ive notice my plants are happier, and increase in quality.
I read a couple of people doing this. so i decided to do a few side by sides and i liked the results i got with this cycle. i experiment a lot. I think it's call midday depression. I've tryed a number of different light cycles threw the years and for flower this is the one i Liked the results. I suggest with everything you read on the forums to test yourself with a side by side experiments. The only way you will know if it works for yourselves and your style of growing is to test it.What made you think of doing that anyway? Seems like an odd thing to just think of out of the blue. It dosent increase or decrease yield from what ive seen but i have noticed that my plants finish a little faster(not much just a few days). and are in a more relaxed happy state.I saw a thread on rui in advanced growing i think, where a guy was doing the gas lantern routine. I think was 6 on 12 off for flowering and no effect on yield, supposedly. I plan to do 10/14 on this run...
Actually... i forgot about the finishing faster part. I read that too.It dosent increase or decrease yield from what ive seen but i have noticed that my plants finish a little faster(not much just a few days). and are in a more relaxed happy state.
Bothcan i ask you why does it speed up flowering? Save electricity? Whats the reason i plan on lowering light time myself
