Personally never used cal/mag,and I am in coco.I use r/o 70% and tap 30% as my municipal water supply is very hard (e.c. 1.2).that leaves me with a e.c. of 0.4 as a starting point.....using coco specific nutes is the key to a healthy, happy harvest. Can't go wrong with either Canna or H&G,and ditch the perlite...

testing run off tells you the ph of the water that ran past your soil collecting all kinds of stuff, it DOES NOT tell you the ph of your soil, WHY, because as your soil dries, the ph changes.
Well as the saying goes, you learn something new everyday.. now at least i dont have to waste my time testing run off ph lol

Every hear of PH Perfect Nutrients ? no more PH testing !!!!
Ya i use AN for that reason, however....

Ya still get calmag issues, if ur using RO, u gotta add the calmag back in, it got filtered out with the bad stuff, and the calmag isnt chelated... (unless u know one, then tell me, id fucking love it) so u still Ph check every few days for RO uptake

No i have not.. tbh i dont mind testing and adjusting my ph, ive got a few grows under my belt but this is the first time ive used a ph or ppm meter so its all quiet new and exciting.. i suppose the novelty will were off quite fast though....

As far as tap water goes, my city water supply is treated... as I assume most are.... Chlorine, chloramines, got knows what else..... but its the chloramines ya gotta worry about, that shit ain't just gonna vanish, its gonna kill off bits of your roots biosphere (for lack of a better term) its like adding a cap of bleach to your res with each nutrient addition....

I hate having to add calmag back in, but hate the idea of the big C's in there more...

Yh i hear leaving it to stand helps a little.. i was in the pet section in a shop today and i saw chloramine remover or somethig to that affect.. were i live in the UK the waters supposed to be some of the best in the world... almost a neutral ph from the tap... low ppm and crystal clear...

How much should i add as my ec at the reccomended dose for this stage and the cal mag will obviously raise it.. im using the ec, and product canna grow guide calculator...
Cut all nutrients by 1/2 (from what is directed) to start and then Cal-mag use at 1/4 (of amount listed) to start

The thing is im not using the rec off the bottle im using a calculated guide based on my ppms, nute selection etc etc and that cuts the bottle dose in half..if i was to half it again id be using only 0.2 solution in pure coco coir.. is that advisable with the 0 nutes in coco??

Adding cal/mag every so often is a good idea as it can be tricky to see an early cal & mag def. By the time you actually have spotting ect, she's probably been deficient for weeks. Obviously if you know your city's tap contents contain Ca/Mg/Zn ect and use tap water, then you've probably already figured out that you dont need cal mag with every feeding. Maybe 2-3 times a month depending on your genetics, lighting and water contents.

WRONG!

The pH of the run off is the pH of the run off, NOT the pH of the soil!!!!

I was thinking about testing some in a spray bottle instead of mixing in with the nutes.. wait til my babys are 2 weeks then give them a little spray, see what happens..
