my first grow -bag seed

I'm on my first grow, so I'm starting off with just bag seeds. (the rest of the material from that bag was well enjoyed) I have 8 seeds.

day 1:
I have 8 seeds. I soaked them in a cup of plain tap water. it might just be me, but I think they might have started to crack after that first day.

day 2:
I put the seeds in an empty cup with 2 damp paper towels laid out around the inside. I put a bag over the cup and placed it in a very warm dry place, a computer closet. might be to warm for them, or could be perfect.

day 3:
2 of the 8 seeds have already cracked and have a small root! either these are some really eager seeds, or I'm doing something right. pictures were taken on day 3.

aren't those pictures just so beautiful already? almost looks like art. I don't have a room ready for these little gals, so off I go! :peace:

I saw someone else on here do it. seems to work great. you can easily see the little seedlings, and they can't ever get to wet. the extra water would just wick up from the bottom as needed.

I don't germ that way myself... I would put the sprouted ones in soil ASAP..they need air now...the cup is to start and check viability of the seed.. obviously those are good..plant them.... Don't over water..water every 3-4 days... no nutes till 3-4 weeks.
welcome..enjoy & luck.

day 4:
6 of the 8 seeds have either cracked or sprouted a nice root and/or baby leaves. the first picture is when I took the 6 from the cup and paper towl and moved them into fiber plug thingies. I mixed a little tap water and 5% paroxide in a 20 to 1 ratio, and added only 1ml to each. I'm being very careful not to over-water this time. unless they really dry out in the next few days, they shouldn't need any extra water other then what they were given today.

later in day 4:
the second picture I took when I checked on the seedlings tonight. I think I have a huge problem rushing up on me. I haven't got a room!! 3 of the 6 cracked seeds already have leaves above ground. 1 lost the seed shell and the other 2 are about to by tomorrow morning. the one is just under 1/2 inch and should be past that by morning.

I think I'll be putting them under 24 hour light sometime in the next 2 days.

my plants are on day 22. they are about 3 inches tall. I started watering them once a day manually with 1/4 strength gh nutes on day 20. today I noticed spots on the leaves. I hope I can fix this problem quick before it gets worse. what could the problem be?

Its probably splash from the nutes....what medium are u using???? start feeding once a week and spread out the watering to 2-3 days.... misting is fine...i usually mist when lights are about to go off or if my veg box has gotten really warm...

thanks! I did not think of that. I was afraid of it being something more complex. just me not being careful when I water. sweet :bigjoint:

I'm using fish tank stone. I know, not the right stuff. it does work pretty well from my experience. I just water a little more often in my ebb and flow. it stays wet enough for the roots and draws in fresh air more often.

today is the last day of week 4. they are mostly about 3 1/2 inches tall. looking great, except the bottom leaves are starting to turn yellow. a problem with nitrogen? or is this normal?
