DJ short says 11/13... let's try it!

from what I've read
sativas respond well to the 11/13 light cycle.

atm I'm running the gsc from cc
which is a sativas Dom hybrid

I'm 3 weeks into flowering and planning on flippin em over to 11/13 today

ran the ccgsc a few times now and by switching to 11/13 I'm hoping for unique phenotypic expressions that I haven't seen before ...lol

anyone tried this with any success?

I had some sativa dom's that would not trip on 12/12.....so I ran them on 11/13 and they started flower without issue

I've run 11/13 in the past; started with 12/12, then shaved thirty minutes off every two weeks. Weeks 5-6 got 11/13, the last two weeks got 10.5/13.5. I saw my plants finish a little better, but I was never sure if it cost me yields.

After forgetting to reset the cycle for the next batch a couple times, I gave up on it.

I've always done my lights manually so I always went under 12 hours of light to make sure, usually 11/13 sometimes even 10/14 I don't think you will see negative difference for sure, maybe just a slightly lower power bill.

just curious, but why do the lights manually?

I dunno know how much this helps but
I've found this chart. I guess if you can trace your genetics you can give your planty a light schedule that is closer to what it gets in nature.

I've done it manually because I also blow glass and have just one inline fan that I have to move in and out for the two different things.

Sativas will trip on 12/12. You guys are just too impatient. Sativas take forever to grow and mature. Why do you think nearly all pure sativas are gone? The Colombians and Mexicans aren't stupid. They crossbred so it grew shorter, grew faster and matured sooner. Not for quality but fucking cops.

it's not about getting them to trip sooner or mature faster, it's supposed to enhance/favor certain traits and therefore give you a different end product.

check out the video if you haven't seen it:

Well my connection sucks so badly videos are out. But I'll take your word for it.There's more than one way to skin a cat. I have learned a lot here and DJ Short is an expert..

here's the update:

just started week 8 and therefore the flush. they seem to be maturing a little faster than normal.

I'm used to this pheno having citrus notes with licorice undertones. Thus time its the other way around, all I smell is a powerful licorice aroma with slight citrus undertones.

I pretty pleased with this light cycle. Looking forward to seeing how my vanilla kush and LSD respond to it.
