HELLO GUYS!

The only weed available in my country here is those pathetic and low class brick weed, but it's all we can get here . My weed dealer will close his business soon, and I'll have no marijuana for the rest of my life if I don't grow my own.

I have just finished the design of my grow cabinet. I have an old cabinet I’m planning to use for my grow. I currently live in SE Asia, where I have no access to some equipments needed (such as inline fan, hpd hood etc, so I designed this box with things that I can easily buy at my local stores.

I have some bagseeds (around 50 seeds) from my friend, i hope they’re still good and fresh. They are some landrace sativas, possibly came from Sumatra. The high is really great, uplifting, and so trippy.

I don’t have the courage to order online seeds, as local police has just put a man in jail for 17 years (The guys at customs busted his package, found 15 marijuana seeds in the so called STEALTH packaging FFS). So, I hope I can get the best results with things I currently have in hand. I hope you guys can give me some advice and tips, whether these things that I planned will work or not).

first of all, as I’ve told you earlier, I have no access to buy in line fan (none is available at local store and buying from ebay is not a choice, as the shipping and tax will cost me too much money). So I’m planning to use 2 bathroom exhaust fan (one for air in and another one for air out). I can make a diy carbon scrubber for the exhaust (smell will be a problem for me, as I live in a populated area).

I have best local nutrition and organic soil for my growing media, so those things won’t be an issue.

The growlight is a real issue though. A friend of mine could hook me up to some 150W HPS bulbs and ballast, but he doesn’t have the hood (i wonder I can use HPS bulb without a proper hood). Local stores here have complete range of T5 and CFL, so they might be the safest option for me.

I hope you guys wouldn’t mind to take a look at my design, attached here, and tell me if this is gonna work or not. thank you very much.

wow! Very nicely drawn...

If possible, separate the lights area form the grow area (where the plants are), this way you will have far less problems with heat, but you will be needing two fans, one to cool the lights and the other one to move the air from the grow area. You won't be needing the intake fan, just exhaust. You could use PC (computer) fans.
HPS can work without the hood as long as you keep it near some reflective surface (e.g. mylar). For example: if you can place the bulb relatively near the top (roof) of your grow box and cover the upper portion of your grow area with mylar (or at least some white paint), the HPS should work.

Hi! feel free to check out my YouTube channel. It has a video on a simple vegetative closet setup! No inline fans and very simple equipment. Hope this helps and good luck!

Just type "solar flowered Episode 3 - The Vegetative Closet" in YouTube search bar. Thanks.

thank you.. should I keep the T5? is one 150W HPS enough for this growbox?

Right on man! Thanks for checking out my video. Nice drawings also! If you have any questions in regards to my setup, feel free to let me know! :)
thanks bro. appreciated. Now I wonder if my grow cabinet height is enough (it's around 1.6m), some people said that sumatran landrace sativas will grow up to 2-3 meter in height, and the buds won't be large.. tall plants, but few buds.. hurts me to see those beautiful seeds from seedbank :(

bro, I'm thinking about an alternative to bathroom exhaust fan..

can I just stack 4 pcs of fans in a box, and attach them to carbon scrubber? will it have enough suction to suck the odor maintain airflow in my cabinet? my cabinet will be 1m x 1m x 1.5m

I would think with a room so small getting a 4 inch carbon inline filter and a 4 inch inline fan would work better with scrubbing the smell. Here is a modification to the design that you drew up. Though working with such tight spaces.. every inch you can hang up the filter makes a huge difference. The only other option would be to make a box on top of a box to house the 4 inch carbon filter, inline fan, and ducting. Up it helps!

Hmm... not an impossible obstacle to negotiate.. Just have to figure out how to fit a round ducting over the square bathroom exhaust fan. Here is a brief sketch to illustrate my new idea. However, it would most likely have to be a well built bathroom exhaust fan to run 24/7 without starting to make noise. The same concept could be applied using computer fans... they would need to be as large as diameter as you can find and most likely in series through a ducting tube. It's just that the carbon filters work best when air is drawn through them as an intake for the exhaust. ;) Hope this helps!
