Hard or Soft Water?

I told you your water wasn't hard on the first or second page and you argued with me. Now we're on the 7th page and you have finally came the conclusion that your water isn't hard because your hydrostore person told you so.

Keep taking advice from this guy @ItsJustMe84 . I'm sure it won't negatively effect your garden in the long run.

The idea that UK ground water is some how "special" is laughable.
This is your last time im asking you to stop.
all youre constantly doing is throwing more gasoline on the fire to spark up an argument its unneeded .

just because you think hes giving bad advice doesnt mean you can personally attack him and harass him. everyone is allowed equally on the forum board and if youve got such a knot in your panties about it that you cannot act like an adult you need to place him on ignore.

Drop it, what are not understanding about STOP.
Yup personal attacks never happen here lol. This is one of the most drama filled forums I been on lol. Cudos if you guys are serious about making it a tad more civil but WTF, the guy got pummelled for agreeing! I must have missed something or the auto Im smoking is better than I thought lol. This one seems pretty mild though, I've seen some major blowouts here, so whats the deal, RIU trying to raise the bar in being nice? If so thats a great thing.

Well ive sorted my problems guys, bought my canna range today, and followed the canna grow guide, the guide asks for your ppms exactly what your using then calculates exactly how much to feed, overall with my water included the guide said i should have a ppm reading of 705, thats just over 1.0 ec = 640ppm in europe.. anyway i did the exact measurements with my 105ppm water and lord behold the ppm reading came back at exactly 705ppm, bang on, and my ph was at 6.5, i literally only had to dip my syringe in the ph down and mix it and the ph dropped to 5.5 which im sure will rise overnight before i do my first feed.

I cant belive how accruate the grow guide is if you manually enter in all your calculations, lets see if canna lives upto its name, its certainly very accurate when knowing the ppm after adding the requested amount of solution, the thing that made me laugh is the reccomemded dose on the bottle is double that of the grow guide.

Thats really cool!!! I may have look in to trying it!

I couldnt belive how accurate it was, it gives me great confidence, yet i feel sorry for those actually added the bottle dosage.if you use the grow guide.
Did you have the normal heavy or light feed schedule on the calculator? 0.7ec is what canna recomend for light feeding on the calculator and bottle of canna start for 3-5day rooting section + your water to give total ec. 1.3 is max for heavy feed in the veg phase I section + water value for total ec.

I dont use the Rhizotonic or anything else just get the full ec from the canna start. Formulex, cannastart and vitalink plant start all recomend starting seeds/clones at 0.7/0.8.

1ec = 640ppm European scale
1/640=0.0015625
0.0015625x705=1.10

So 705ppm = 1.10ec

I prefer the light feeding which is 0.7ec+ your water or 448+your water ppm in your case around 553 maybe?

Thats the thing with guides, generally they work but the thing is the plant rarely needs or uses that amount of nutrient ime. Watching your EC is a great way to measure the plants needs. Rarely exceed 600 ppm's in my system, but have had strains that go up to 1800.

Yeah i followed the Normal schedule, what do you guys think? Light feeding to begin with? Remember in not in soil, i hear techniques with light feeding require a few times aday, i dont mind feeding everyday which ive always had to do with coco, ive fed my plants as much as 4 litres a day at one point in 12 litre pots and coming back the next day and the pots would be almost dry again. I dont fancy feeding a few times a day though.

My actual mix is 0.9 ec and 1.1 with water.. do you reckon thats too much? Feel free to say what you think, like i said yesterday ill only do what i thinks right but i appreciate all the advice given...

Im using rhizotonic, cannazym, and maybe cal mag along with my base nutes.. ive always used root stimulants last time it was bio pac and bio plus with vitalink, dont forget cocos alot different to soil, its like starting with a clean slate were as soils already have alot of what a plant needs hence why alot of growers dont feed nutes for the first couple of weeks but coco its advised you start with your full plan from day 1..

I appreciate the job the moderators do. It is not easy and often hard. People don't seem to appreciate shit. If a moderator in any forum online asks you to cease and desist you can tell the bozos because they keep on keepin' on. Thanks,sunni.

Amazing plants and i start my rockwool and promix seed in light nutrients always too, they bum out pretty quickly in just water. Im not sure but rhizo might supply a decent dose of calmag.

The heavy feed seems way too strong for seedlings either way.

My bad i read the chart wrong i i went from week 1 which is actually after the first week, the first 3-7 days it is 0.7-0.9ec even on normal feed, and the difference between light and normal isnt much i think its around 0.2mg more of a and b for normal... looks like im throwing my 10 litre mix away lol it was a good test though im just not at that stage yet..haha

0.7-0.9 sounds more realistic and i hope you get a good start :-)

I have no clue about coco lol. I run lps setup and start at .2 using just aqua flakes and microblift pl, and calmag if needed, I never add anything but that for the whole grow. I raise EC slowly to appr .6 and monitor res to see how EC changes and adjust. I was thinking of switching to coco dtw but now may just stick with this as over the last two years I've dialled it in to be pretty maintenance and trouble free :).

Stick with what works for you, i like growing in coco as i feel theres alot of benefits if your willing to take the time to learn, but i suppose id find growing in soil or mix more confusing just because ive had no experience with it.
