So I've been having a hard time wrapping my head around expansion. Not expansion of the universe it's self, I get that, but how everywhere we look we see red light or "red shift" I can also understand the Doppler effect and the difference between red shift and blue shift.

It wasn't until I saw an explanation using a rubber band that I was able to fully grasp the awesomeness of the universe expanding. Here's how it goes, if you haven't heard it. Take a rubber band and cut it so now you have a long straight piece of rubber band. Now make marks equal lengths apart, let's say 1/2 apart(doesn't really matter) now if you stretch the rubber band out you'll notice that every mark you made is getting further away from each other! Bingo! It's that simple

I was having a problem because I kept wondering why is everything moving away from us? This helps explain that no matter where you are in the universe, everything is moving away from everything. Not just moving away from us because we are the center of the universe like my mommy told me I was:oops:

That makes sense also if you pay closer to the "dots" each dot has gotten larger than what it has started as also you notice some discolouration as the rubber band stretches the colour gets lighter until eventually it disappears.
Also on this topic there was some documentry a couple of years ago where they weighed a soil before it was used to plant a tree and couple years after once the tree had used up the goodness from the soil to see if the weigh of the soil decreases but it stayed the same so the plant doesn't eat the soil, that means when the leaves die and they go on the ground and decompose and turn into soil, the soil is increasing which means the earth is expanding 0_o?

Did you know cops make so much profit by weed being illegal?, confiscate money for laundering/dealing, cars, houses, drugs, this give it all police worth while doing so why would they make it illegal when they can take criminal possessions and keep it, majority of tax payers money go to dealing with weed.

In that topic police are 100% useless, they can look for any excuse to break into peoples homes just so they can do it, but when you need their help nope. My friend and I were going to his house few nights ago and he got his house keys copied on the following morning but the copies weren't good so they wouldn't work. the key copy seemed to be functional but not fully functional, it could lock doors but it couldn't open them 0_o so we got locked out rang police to come assist us in getting in they simply said "it's not an emergency and we cant help in those situations. What if something happened to us outside that night because we had no where to go? And they say they're there to serve and protect?

Yes I know cops are crooked, alot of people are in general. You should have said your sick granny was inside the house and not responding...they would have kicked the door in. What would you expect them to do really....shoot the lock off for you?

They have tools to break doors down and cut windows sure they do have the tools, If they can break in normally they can also on normal occasion, besides we don't want to be arrested while trying to get in our own home, so a cop needs to be on sight to observe the situation so there's no confusion amongst neighbours.

Good point. Why call a locksmith when the cops could just break the door off the hinges for free.
