Sexual Maturity

This is my first grow so please excuse my ignorance but from all my research I was led to believe that the plants will show their sex once they are put in to flower or 12/12. Well my plants are about 6 weeks from sprout (feminized AK47) and I got all excited because I saw some stipules but didn't know what they were so I did some more reading. Turns out that the plants reach sexual maturity when their nodes alternate and will show calyx pre 12/12 if they veg long enough, or so I read.

My questions are these, are the alternating nodes 90 degrees from the previous node but the stems are directly across from each other on the node (see attached pics) and are the hairy things in my pics the female calyx?
Thanks!

Yes, congrats. It looks like you are the proud parent of a girl. That said, you need to take a deep breath and settle in for the long haul. Try not to obsess too much, and learn that patience is a virtue. It'll be fine - there are lots of people on this list who will help. :)
