Heavenbright LED Panels, breaking down the specs.

There's been some talk about these LED panels on here as of late, mainly by the owner himself.

This thread is not about the owner, but rather about the lights and what they can or can't do.

Here's a list of all the lights they offer:

Black Model-V4, 4pcs Vero 18, 124w to the COBs, $400

Black Model-V6, 6pcs Vero 18, 186w to the COBs, $500

Black Model-V10, 10pcs Vero 18, 310w to the COBs, $775

Model-V4, 4pcs Vero 29, 450w to the COBs, $787.50

Black Model-V6, 6pcs Vero 29, 675w to the COBs, $1170

Black Model-V8, 8pcs Vero 29, 900w to the COBs, $1485

Now, I do not know how to calculate percent efficiency like some of the other members, but I can understand the datasheets for the most part. If others want to chime in and share their knowledge on efficiency, please do.

Seems the Vero 18s are driven at 1.05a and the Vero 29s are driven at 2.95a.

Vero 18s 3000k is 131 lumens per watt, the 4000k is 136 lumens per watt and the 5000k is 143 lumens per watt.

Vero 29s 3000k is 120 lumens per watt, the 4000k is 125 lumens per watt and the 5000k is 131 lumens per watt.

Does anyone know what drivers these lights use? What's their efficiency? I know they say they're Mean Well, but there's so many of them, ranging in efficiency from 80% or so on upwards to 95%.

I do not. I've seen a lot of talk about these lights, just no specs, only that they're "hand-crafted in the USA" and use Bridgelux Veros, both 18s and 29s. I thought I'd make a thread about the specs and facts.

You need to revise your post. You seem to be correct (or close... maybe 2.8 amps and 431w) about the V29s but the V18 are being driven at nominal current (29.5v x 1.05a x 4arrays). At 2.1 amps 4 of them would consume 260 watts. I don't have major problems with running at nominal current... I've suggested it to DIYers on a budget.

Beyond that, not keen on running over nominal. Quite likely most will make it past the warranty but no free ride... the reduced cost will be countered by the electric bill, and reduced L70.

The Vero 18's nominal current is 1.05mA. 2.1a is the max.

The Vero 29's nominal current is 2.1mA. 4.2a is the max.

It said on website that the V18s are ran at 2100mA. Maybe he was referring to the entire panel?

120v and 154w should be 1.28a. What does that 2100mA mean then?

I'll revise my post. Like I said, this is about specs and facts. Not trying to mislead anyone.

Great start already!

Don't own the light, shit talked recently with owner, but this thread isn't a coincidence......

I personally don't get these threads, especially when the premise has to be CORRECTED right from the 1st post....I would have rather IM'ed.....Report me or Ignore Me

What a noble gesture to document the light for everyone :leaf: Maybe those things should have been pondered BEFORE the thread was typed out, imho.

Personally, I don't care about HB, the design doesn't thrill me either, but I don't need to start a thread about it....

Jeff, your "proxy.php" that's attached to the image you posted gives you away, it was the same
"proxy.php" that was present when you posted excerpts from our emails in the A51 thread.
Might I suggest you quit posting under fake accounts, stop trying to malign the competition, and get your own product to market.

No one is forcing you to be part of this thread. You chose to be part of it. Interpret it as you want to. I'm not here to make you believe or disbelieve anything. I am participating on a public forum and staying within the rules. This is the LED and other Lighting part of the forum. I made a thread about LED Lighting. And I made it clear in the begining that "this thread is not about the owner, but rather about the lights and what they can or can't do."

Do you have any facts or specs that you would like to add about HB's panels?

I use tinypic.com to post pictures. Check it out for yourself. I also use TOR as well.

I assure you I am not "Eraserhead". My name is Dennis and I live in North Carolina.

The 154w is total power from the wall, including driver loss and fans. 2100mA is a typo I'm guessing. If the 124w output figure is correct then they're being driven at exactly 1.05A

The Vero 18's nominal current is 1.05mA. 2.1a is the max.

The Vero 29's nominal current is 2.1mA. 4.2a is the max.

I uploaded the same image from another image sharing site without using a proxy, I'm on my cell phone this time. Check the image's URL. It's the same thing, just a different URL shown by Rollitup.org

This thread is about HB's light specs and facts. If you have issues with Area 51 or any other company, make a thread, this is about HB's specs.

Is jeff really that bad at Math though? That would be kinda shocking.....

LOL I thought 1.2 Gigawatts was AquariusPanta spamming his HB light again. Why would Jeff make an "advertisement like" post about HB?

Since AP pretty much acted like an assclown and not someone making a respectful run at starting a business I think a dogpile may be deserved.
The whole idea of sliding cobs was pretty stupid to me from the get go. So now you have a hot spot in the middle, how do you use that for linking up multiple fixtures? Just big dead spots in between the clusters of cobs? bongsmilie

Not to mention the hair standing male daisy chain receptacles and other obvious issues on something that anyone with a parts list and a DeWalt hand drill could put together.
Heaven was Bright while it lasted :hump:
