The fact you even have to ask if kids should be around drugs make you look like a dick parent.

Those drugs in my bathroom cabinet and all alcohol is always placed out of reach and strictly out of bounds to any minors, called being responsible!

Morons!

Thanks so much Rob Roy for the kind words. My kiddos and family are absolutely top priority and always want to make sure I do right by them.

And I know a few in the local school system that I think might light up every now and again :) :).

I hear you grandmah, on not advocating either. I'm still not sure what is right or wrong myself. I just know that's what my wife and I chose for our family, but I figured other people gotta be battling the same questions? I can't be the only parent that grows. I will say though... I feel a lot more uneasy about it now that I have some going into flower. Just feels like a different ballgame over having them around plants that are vegging. If I had unlimited funds it would be a different story for me I think (although I have REALLY enjoyed growing). I simply cannot afford as much as I need through a dispensary. I just want to produce my own that I know is safe.
My oldest is five and she knows I have plants in my closet but that's as specific as I get. She'll talk about anything so I guess you have to know your children as well. She doesn't really question me about it right now either so that's good for now. It's definitely a tough question and I'm not sure what I'll do in the future.

And as they get older, like my ten year old.. I didn't want her to hear about another kids parents that is doing it, not legally or for good reason and know that they aren't supposed to because it's 'bad'... Then find out I did it and think I was doing something bad or illegal.. I just wanted to get to them first so they understand some people can use it and it's really good for them, others shouldn't.. just like with other drugs

Good job , it shows being the fact that you are even concerned about the situation shows you are a better father than most of the turds on this planet.

That being said isn't it great growing anything and everything you want yourself , Mix it up and grow something else blend it all, regardless where , your children will absorb the positives and look at it as a whole.

the way i look at it is it's legal here in CO. it's not addictive or lethal. i'd rather my kid try weed first vs alcohol or cigarettes. by the time she's 18, it will be legalized in the entire US and won't be a social stigma anymore.

we just call it medicine and leave it at that. i let the kid see the veggies growing in the garden and keep my garden to myself.

Seriously you fuckwits, your asking if its alright to let kids be involved in drugs?!

I had no say with my kid as moved away, this is when my responsible parenting was replaced with his mums version and it points out how as a parent we can trivialise small shit till it becomes a big problem!

Again the only way to parent is sensiblly, what your asking is not sensible. If parents do this then no wonder kids are smoking pot at young ages.

Really you just need to wake up and stop kidding yourself!

Do you talk to your kids about why you like to smoke cigarettes and let them help light them? Do you talk to them about doing coke or let them watch?(I'm gonna bet that almost everyone here has done it.) Do you talk to your children about having sex with your wife and let them watch? Do you talk to them about watching pornography or let them watch? Do you let touch pain pills or really teach them about it?

None of those things are immoral in my opinion but none of those things are things that children should be involved in. It is easy to keep a child out of my bedroom. It is easy to make a grow room hidden. It seems unnecessary to have a child involved in something that is illegal in the entire USA.

If you want to teach your children hydroponics or the like, just make a small setup for them in the house or outside. It seems unnecessary and damaging to have your kids partake in a quasi legal and a practice that most people frown upon in society.

So what your saying is your not responsible and moved away or they moved away from you and instead of pursuing your son you decided to let his mum fuck him up and you did nothing about it? Cause u decided not to be responsible? Seems like it wasn't replaced just more or less given up by your statement. Just little confused by your sentence. Either way every response so far has made you look worst and worst than The more responsible adults that have answered that you so call "pot heads"

Do you explain what it is and what you are doing, or do you do your best to avoid and hide it?
I just keep it simple, I tell my kid its not for him.. Its adults only.

I've had similar situations with different aged kids when growing for clients, I tell them the same thing.

I'm not going to tell my kid or other kids this is medical, because this isn't.. Nothing wrong with recreational weed, its a safe intoxicant.

Personally, if I had kids I wouldn't grow at home. Too many of my buddies have had schools call and say the kids reek of pot, break ins were the kids were actually held at gun point. I'm not in a legal state though.

But either way, "daddy" would have a normal job were he had to leave the house to work. And the kids wouldn't know shit. Just rent a house down the street
