Hey all, was just wondering if permatex high temp gasket seal would be ok to use for sealing up air leaks in my reflectors ? I'm trying to seal em up for better flow and odor control. Thanks
I would also do this outside, I'm not sure how the ammonia in the sealant will affect the babies. You should be able to without too trouble, less is better, I would run a bead the size of the original foam, then wait for it to set up to 3/4 of the cure time then close the glass, making sure none of the un cured squezzs out.
should it set up on the glass you can just remove it next time you open it.
I have found it's easier to excess the inside from the vent opening.
Why not just use the vent tape?Hey all, was just wondering if permatex high temp gasket seal would be ok to use for sealing up air leaks in my reflectors ? I'm trying to seal em up for better flow and odor control. Thanks
it's also important to understand that if you push air thru the hood, it puts pressure blowing out on the seals, if you pull air thru, it pulls the glass and seal tight.
this^^^ I mean some cheaper hoods might leak a tiny bit but i've never noticed it to cause odors outside. the hoods i have now were designed to have air pulled through them not pushedit's also important to understand that if you push air thru the hood, it puts pressure blowing out on the seals, if you pull air thru, it pulls the glass and seal tight.
