The only problem with doing this immediately is that too many people in this country make too much money building weapons- the same people who have too much power in Washington, which they then use to start wars. For profits.

The only losers are the American taxpayer, our standing in the world- and of course the poor bastard standing outside his hovel in a war zone trying to piss and have a cigarette... branded an 'enemy combatant' by remote sensing, he's blown to hell by a four million dollar missile.

I simply make a statement that we should make ALL politicians live within the tax income and you want to push that aside and start pointing fingers. And that is exactly what both the Democrats and Republicans want you to do. They have divided us and got us squabbling over nothing.

Money and budgets are fungible... Forcing the government to live within it's income makes it prioritize and make hard decisions. How would you act if someone gave you a credit card without a limit and told you that you would never have to pay back what is charged on it?

You see, he believes in 2 sides and one side is right while the other is wrong. So, in Pada's opinion, when the deficit spikes up under Democrats it is all for the good of the people but when the deficit spikes up under Republicans it is because those people are evil and want to kill everyone's grandma!!

Some of us... Dont like the fact that the debt keeps going up year after year with no end in site while other people argue over how much we are bleeding out only when the people they dont like are in power.

How about we make all politicians only spend what they have taken in as revenue rather than spend our grandkids into poverty.

A few years back, I'd have agreed with most of your post. I like that you are recognizing and calling out the shell game of the political parties.

What'd I say in answer to your statement about making politicians only spend what they take in, is it will never happen as the system has coercion baked into it, they won't act as self limiters. Logically to achieve your goal, the amount taken in, should only be derived from a voluntary menu based fee setup. (hmmm.. a truly free market would do that)

As well, there should be absolute competition to assure the consumers get the best service. In a coercion based monopoly (government as we know it) this is an impossibility.
