Is water from an AC safe for plants?

Quick question, I have a 14K btu portable AC. It has a built in Dehumidifer but it also puts out a lot of water just running the AC. I have heard it's safe and also heard it's not. Tomorrow I am taking a sample to my buddies hydro shop to have it tested. But I'm pretty sure it's as clean as RO.. I even took a little a sip and it tasted clean. It's also been well used so if there was any factory oils they should be gone.. So is it safe or not?

PS I own a hydrologic stealth RO but this is for my girls grow and she just has a couple of plants..

That's condensation water, and therefore probably as clean as RO water in those parts. Use the hell out of it! I do every day.

i got lazy recently and started watering with some of the condensate runoff, plants look fine. and i even have a bit of algae at the bottom of the bucket.
It just might be the cleanest water available for growing in Texas. I've had the dubious pleasure of tasting water from taps in many parts of that Great State and I was always impressed at the sheer volume of dissolved solids in it!

where i am, the tap runs about 125-175 PPM or so, all calmag. it's perfect for watering. haven't had a calmag issue since moving here. decent enough to drink.

back where i used to live around portland, we got water that was 4 PPM in the winter. that's nearly distilled water levels of awesome. but it led to calmag issues regularly. but it was the best drinking water ever

i forget what the el paso water was like (as far as i've ever gone into texass), but i remember seeing tons of water softener kits and other supplies for fixing the water. phoenix is horrible as well, i can't even drink tap there. ditto most of california.

i can't believe OP drank his runoff, ewwwwwww. ssssssssssssssssssssuck.

Aren't you in Denver nowadays? I'm in northern Colorado and the last time I saw a water quality report for my city the dissolved solids value was like 52ppm.

52 is damn good.
I know, I'm spoiled. Everywhere else in the country, the water tastes like shit by comparison.

Many years ago, the great comedian George Carlin dropped in for a gig. Apparently one of his comedy routines was about water quality... and how bad the water is everywhere you go. The story goes that his shtick bombed here, because when he started his signature ranting about the crummy water, everyone looked at him like he was out of his mind or something!

Hey George, next time, try a glass of the local sauce before tearing into it!

The water here has to be good; the faithful customers of New Belgium, O'Dell's, Ft Collins Brewery, et al need their beer brewed with only the best!

I get 70 gallons a day from dehus and air conditioners and I pump it back into the res and reuse it . Add cal mag and it seems to work just fine . My tap water is 90 ppm out of a tall boy filter . 0ppm with the runoff water
