When it comes to Cree COBs, the part number is very important. If you were to pay 70€ you would want to make certain you are getting the rare top bins. I suspect you could get them shipped in from China for much less, no tax and you will be able to get top bins in relatively small quantities. Try Jerry from Kingbrite: j[email protected]

it seems like nobody can tell me if the cdm evolution is any good for my microgrow project. lack of information always sucks ass.
led is more than double the price but when the cdm is some old bullshit for growing micro I threw the money for it out of the frontdoor.

Looking over the CDM data, they are 100-120lm/W. Interesting, but they are heavily dependent on reflector efficiency and degrade by 8-16% lumen depreciation after 1 year of 12/12


Your CXB3590 setup would be 183-207lm/W and near zero lumen depreciation over several years, maybe even lumen appreciation. Low dependence on reflector only a small portion needs to be redirected. Very low heat which can be very helpful for micro project and stealth.

I checked back with the supplier page I found here and their datasheet says 130 lm/w in test for the cxb3090

The 183-207lm/W for 3590 is only for the chips that are binned high enough

The effiency depends on what amperage you run the LED cob.
At lower currents like 0.7A the COB will be more efficient than for example the 1.2A test displayed on digikey

CXB3590 72v, the one you linked on digikey has a CB bin.

It's a shame Digikey doesn't have the http://www.digikey.nl/product-detail/en/CXB3590-0000-000R0HCD35G/CXB3590-0000-000R0HCD35G-ND/5302360 in stock because the 3500k is the best combo of blue red and efficiency.

For vegging the higher binned 5000k 3590s can reach the 183-200lm/W
