Hahaha ya dips

You obviously understand it now. You are responding. You think I care how my Grammer is when I type to idiots like you? You are dumber than anyone else I have seen on these threads. That pretty bad man. Want to nit pick some more grammer? How about posting more of that knowledge on UR opinions and how they are fact?
That was to the other guy, not to you :
So how many guys did you blow today for $20 a pop?
Let me check to see if I understand your argument:

You Say:
There might be a god.
Maybe more than one.
Maybe we will find god somewhere in the universe
maybe behind an asteroid on some star system (OK, I made that up)
This does not require proof.
To reject that there is a god is a belief, therefore the same as a religious conviction

Atheists:
Are skeptical because they require proof or to be otherwise convinced that there is a god,
Therefore reject they there is a god

The problem with your argument is that atheists require to be convinced that there is god. This is not the same as belief there is no god. In fact, science and the understanding of the universe, life and everything does not require a god for an explanation.

Science overcame theologians that needed the earth to be the center of the universe to justify their beliefs. There was struggle over this. Scientists were burned at the stake by these religious zealots. To believe without proof retards the growth of knowledge. Which is why its good to be an atheist.

a·the·ist

aɡˈnästik/
noun
  1. 1.
a person who believes that nothing is known or can be known of the existence or nature of God or of anything beyond material phenomena; a person who claims neither faith nor disbelief in God.

Athiests do not believe a god exists, Agnostics are not sure.

You are arguing the wrong definition of the words.

I didnt blow anyone. You seem to have a lasting fixation with homosexual sex. I recommend a therapist for that. Or maybe you just need to get laid.
You recommend a therapist for someone fixated on gay sex, while you're the one who admitted to servicing guys for $20 a pop. I don't have a problem with gay sex. You're the one with the gay sex problem.

I wouldn't put on my slippers for $20, let alone clean anyone's pool for that matter.

Flaming pie, feel free to jump in here too. Its not about churches but don't feel shut out.

So you say again that Atheists do not believe a god exists therefore they are the same as the faithful in believing in something. There goes that belief word again. So lets look at the definitions of belief and faith:

be·lief
bəˈlēf/
noun
  1. 1.
an acceptance that a statement is true or that something exists.
"his belief in the value of hard work"
  2. 2.
trust, faith, or confidence in someone or something.
    "a belief in democratic politics"
    synonyms:faith, trust, reliance, confidence, credence
"belief in the value of hard work"

faith
fāTH/
noun
  1. 1.
complete trust or confidence in someone or something.
"this restores one's faith in politicians"
    synonyms:trust, belief, confidence, conviction; More

  2. 2.
strong belief in God or in the doctrines of a religion, based on spiritual apprehension rather than proof.
synonyms:religion, church, sect, denomination, (religious) persuasion, (religious) belief, ideology, creed, teaching, doctrine

I said that an atheist is convinced that god does not exist I think that is more accurate but OK, sticking with the definition you gave, the Atheist's belief best fits the first definition "an acceptance that a statement is true". The faithful's belief in God best fits the second definition that includes "trust, faith or confidence in someone or something". Looking at the definition of faith, you find "based on spiritual apprehension rather than proof". Therein lies the difference. That atheist requires proof of a god before they can accept that there is one. Absent that, the atheist accepts as true that god does not exist. The faithful believe without proof, end of story.

Now, where were you going with this?

faith
fāTH/
noun
  1. 1.
complete trust or confidence in someone or something.

You have faith and/or confidence that god does not exist and it is complete until something concrete smashes into your forehead to dispute that faith.

Prove to me god does not exist and you can call it being an Athiest based on fact. However, if you cannot prove to me that god does not in fact exist then all you have is faith as well.

If you are not sure whether god exists or not and/or that proof cannot be produced then you are an agnostic. If you have faith that god does not exist not based on reality, rather just based on your perceptions and what other people have told you then you are just as indoctrinated as the OP. The point is that indoctrination to one person is fact to another person and it was what I was trying to point out from the beginning of this conversation.

For me, god either exists or he does not. My knowledge or lack thereof does not alter this reality.

Many people are angry at organized religion. That is not my problem just like slavery in America was not and is not my problem. I was not around when it was created and I never had anything to do with it.
