i have been told to top plants when they reach the 4th - 6th node
right now i'm on 7th - 8th node, but my plants are only about 7inches tall (internode is less than 1cm, closer to 4-5 mm)
is it too early to top/fim?
also,
i know that more than 7 fingers on the fans is normal during veg, but new fingers are growing on fan leaves and covering the old fingers (this is after the leaves have gained their dark green pigment and are about 3 inches)
is this good or bad? (i was told that this might be an indicator of the a budding fan leaf mutation, preflowers are present at base of node, also, i prune every day on 24hr photoperiod)

edit: mothers had ~17 fingers when fans were around 7 inches (no pics)
