I'm sorry, but no body is going to work for free. I don't know how many lights you've assembled, but it can take some time to get a small light like this assembled. There are lots of electrical connections that need to be made and somebody has to be paid to do it. You only look at the price of the cob and housing. Have you ever considered labor and tooling? Would you assemble lights for 8+ hours a day for minimum wage?
These lights are for people who can't/won't assemble it yourself. Yeah sure you can buy all the parts and assemble one yourself. However take the time and actually log how long it would take you and multiply that by your hourly rate you earn at work. You'll quickly see there is a huge difference between DIY and commercial production.
As far as the delays go, again a HUGE difference between DIY and commercial production. You don't just slap shit together and ship it out. That's how recalls end up happening.
