Washing your buds after harvest?

I don't have PM and yeah there's alooot of branches I'll need to dip in but I don't mind, I'd rather do it and have clean buds. Especially because before I had my tent I just had the plants exposed to the environment of my home which I have 3 kitties wandering around constantly so I'd like to make sure there's nothing I wouldn't wanna smoke on the buds.
My stuff tastes great man, you don't have to wash it off, seems extremely unnecessary to me. But it is your bud man, your choice.

You being in the desert and all should make things go smooth. If I tried that in my climate, I'd be scared to death of mold/fungus. To humid in my neck of the woods.

i was into doing tbe wash by the book, Doc Buds (originator?) style. I foliar feed right through flower.

I migrated to giving the buds a thorough hosing down 2x in the week they are to be harvested. Both methods help. Rinsing them before chop and hanging them without excess water seems a little better in my tests.

On 420 there are a lot of people who tried bud washing. It seems lile maybe 80% stick with it. They compare it to washing produce.

I have heard enough to give this a try. I'm not sure it's needed for indoor growing with a controlled environment, but for outdoor crops, this could help wash off the dust, mold spores, bugs etc. that we are exposed to outdoors. Sometimes, you can get just a few mold spores on decayed stigmas, this might help wash off mold spores off or the entire withered stigma. I like the idea of the baking soda and lemon juice, but the H2O2 wash seems to have some good reasons too.
I guess my hesitation would be affecting the aesthetics of smell of the product, but I don't think this will be a problem from what I have heard (which isn't alot as few people do this or even consider it). I also have had no complaints previously, but if this technique improves the cleanliness of the flower, it is worth consideration as the market demands for clean product/low microbial counts is intense. As I said, I see this more for outdoor growing and for any situation where mild PM is present and the crop is too good to throw away.

So far all the people who are saying don't do it are people that haven't done it. I always prefer the knowledge of people that have experimented with it and I will be trying it as even the main admin of the website says he does it. So, yeah, I think it's safe.

Bro, no question its safe. There are maybe 10 top growers on 420 who faithfully bud wash. Their produce is competitive at the highezt level.

Besides those, every grower who follows the DB high brix style washes. There are many , many of those. Never once heard of a problem. I personally washed that style for about 18 months.

So it is pretty cleat that washing is BETTER if a nice end product is to be gained(especially if you r outdoors).......I will be chopping 8 plants this weekend.......4of which will be washed(rinsed) 4 that will left to dry normally.....I will post my verdict in a couple of weeks time..........after dry and cure and hopefully peeps will at least be able to gauge weither this is good or not so good for their purposes..........the plants I will be chopping will come from my tent room..........

Fibrous plants have hemp in them same with plants that tend to flower early. I'm not saying plants with pithy stems are bad I have some that are dank but I didn't create them myself. If I make some I want to try to keep that out of the gene pool.
Are you aware that the pic of the stems was upside down in Michael Starks book MJ Potency from the actual report in 1975?

So I know Jorge Cervantes is a legend among the cannabis growing community and he knows his shit but I'd like some second opinions as I'm thinking about trying this this upcoming harvest. Whatcha guys think? Anyone try it before?
How he is a legend is beyond me. Some of the biggest names in the cannabis community are some of the biggest d-bags or just straight out idiots. It was their generation that really gave pot-smokers such a bad rap, keep that in mind. Fortunately, we are fast on our way to shake off the stigmas.

The Pith is an observation, it doesn't dictate potency, it is more the fact that the plant uses some of it's energy to produce the pith rather than Essential oil or bud production.

As for Jorge his time has passed the book was good way back when we started, but the world has since surpassed that. Nice guy though.

I've done ok WITHOUT CERVANTES and the likes of .........in a world full of technology we can all learn the basics then maybay move on to some of the more complicated stuff after that we'll you never no........you might even say your....EXPERIENCED.....learning little tricks along the way ALWAYS HELPS......

No I actually never read it. That is funny why would a plant that's less fibrous be used for fibers?
Pith is Cellulose used in stuff like paper and fuel etc. the fiber comes from the softer tissues of the Cambium layer, just like we breed Cannabis for the Drug, Hemp farmers will breed for fiber and cellulose and seed.
