CFL 1x1x3 complete newb

it's dying. you need to transplant it immediately
Not the answer I wanted but was what I was expecting. Transplanted into a slightly larger pot with about 35% perlite. (Getting some promix tomorrow for the next batch this dollar store stuff was just for this round).

Roots were brown look like it had been soaking in ice tea which can't be good and is most likely the source of my issues. Broke up the soil as carefully and best I could to get rid of the old stuff and let the roots breath. Gave a very light straight watering just to settle the soil will do a real watering in a day or two I think.

Thanks again for the advice, until next time.

brown root and wet feet probably meant root rot
should have a foul smell
insufficient nutrients to the plant, but not because your feeding was wrong

Upgraded the cabinet to 3x1x3, added a small fan inside for circulation, added more lights so it now has approx 220w (actual not equivelant).

Finally got a timer as well, tired of babysitting them for wakeups and bed times.

Big gal looks good today, going to give it another day or two in the dry soil before watering. Question, when I do water do I go straight back to normal nute schedule or start from the ground up and slowly up them to full strength?

Molasses also have a tendency to turn roots brown. The plants roots are not the issue.
I should have taken a picture of the roots. I've only just recently started using molasses would that be enough time to have stained the roots? Any idea what an alternate diagnosis could be? Could the alternative be that I have been overfeeding since going into flower which tainted the soil and caused nutrient lockout?

Since it's already in the new planter with fresh soil and better perlite mix for drainage is there anything I can do to help her along? Straight water next watering or go back to the nute feeding?

i use molasses myself for my teas, i haven't noticed any brown staining but that's not to say it couldn't
fresh dirt should feed it for a little while, as you mentioned watch your plant close and it will tell you if it's happy

I am certain the plant is not burned or overnuted. Look at its pale color. The plant is suffering from an unbalanced diet and is extremely N deficient. Not much you can do at this stage. Just be sure your next grow to feed a more balanced diet.

That's the plan this one was just a learning experience. Figure I'll do what I can with this one to see what I can salvage for harvest and the next set will have a little more experience to help them along.

Gotta learn somehow.

drainage - About a 30%-40% perlite is what I would run
water retention - Be sure that whatever else thats in the mix can hold water - coir, peat moss etc.
coarse texture - Don't want the dirt to feel heavy after watering. It should still be bouncy/loamy and still have plenty of water. If you make a fist and the dirt clumps together, it is too heavy

Focus on these things the next potting

That's the best explanation I've heard so far. This one was with about 10% perlite and the rest soil from the dollar store lol. Went out yesterday and got a nice bag of Pro-Mix and will be doing approx 30% perlite 70% Pro-Mix and see how that goes.

I'll start a journal for the next set. Thanks for the info, honestly can't say thank you enough for people taking the time to help.
