DiY LEDs - How to Power Them

for a primary veg light get any of the cobs with a temp 4 K or higher. I prefer 5K or higher. Depending on your setup The cheaper smaller cobs like vero18, vero10, cree25XX or cree 3070 are more than adequate and will perform great for veg (smaller cobs can sit closer to the canopy, keeping the youngins warmer). I'm slowly replacing my T5s that I normally use for veg.

Thanks for the reply purplebuz. Any links of where I can buy these Cree and drivers?

Looking to power 2x vero 29 (5000k) at around 1.8 amps?

All I can see is LPF-90D-48
These will work but spending 100 bucks seems crazy for just 2 leds chips.

One more question.
Can you put some star leds in series with your cobs if they use the same current?
I have 16 volts to spare on by 3000k build and would like to throw in some 3v royal blues.
I have an hlg-185h-c1050 with 5 cxb3070s. That leaves me with 16 volts to spare on each driver.

If they use the same current and you have spare volt left then it should work

...the direct link dont go for me .. but maybe this helps a bit.... i like the reads...:fire: ...thanks for the link nge...;)

Driver question for the HLG-185H-C1400. Is it possible to run 3 CXB3070's and 1 CXA3070's off one? They have different Vf but they equal out to 142.77 out of the maxed out 143 Vf

...my estimation... i hope my numbers are ok...

3 CXB3070

Vf @ 50ºC @ 1400mA = 35,59 * 3 = 106,77 V ....4 = 142,36 V

1 CXA3070

Vf @ 50ºC @ 1400mA = 37,30 V

Vf tot = 106,77 + 37,30 = 144,07
