how often have you water 'em ?
I vegged for 6 days in a red solo cup to establish some good roots. In the solo cup I had to water almost everyday. Now she's in a 5.5 gallon pot. I haven't had to water her since the transplant yet. It's looking like she'll be able to go another day. So probably gonna be watering her approx. every 3 days (for now at least). I like to let the dirt dry almost completely before re-watering. from my experience, cannabis in general likes to get bone dry before watering again, just my opinion though. I judge "dryness' by the weight of the pot, if the pots really light, then its probably time to water.

Day 9,

She's staying nice and short (not that space is an issue, but I love tight nodes), and she still has that purple hue going, which is cool! Questions, comments, and critiques are all welcome here, thanks in advance to anyone following along. PEACE

Avatar was what led me to this thread, fucking love AT :D

Well lots of plants have purple but that is being brought at temps like 60 and bellow. So it looks like it's a pheno.
5.5 gal.. you would need to give like 5 weeks of veg to fill that in with roots.

About watering yes and no.. I try to follow:
during veg let them dry and stretch their roots for water. I start with once per 5-6d and end up with once per 2-3days. Going dry but not so it would start wilting.

during flowering, roots already filled the medium, plant is big and drinking much more so I try to always keep the soil moist-wet, but not soaked wet. Letting it bone dry leads to deficiencies, loss of fan leaves, lowers the yield.

can't wait to see what ya going to get, pulling up a chair :)

Okay cool, I just recently read something similar to what you sated about watering guidelines. I'll be sure to avoid letting it get bone dry during flowering. Thanks for the tip!

And yes, 5 weeks of veg is exactly what I'm going for. This 5.5 gallon pot is the biggest pot I've ever grown in, so this should be very fun. Also, I have plenty of vertical and horizontal space, so I figured why not get the 5.5 gallon.

P.S. AT is so awesome

I wish vertical space would not be a prob for me, I could properly grow some landrace sativas.. I have 3' of total vert space and crawling in there every morning and watching those lanky sativas stretch is a pain in the ass :))))

Looking awesome Bhandari! I can only hope that my current grow turns out half as good as you last grow! We have similar setups. Could you check out my grow and let me know what you think and if you have any suggestions? https://www.rollitup.org/t/300w-cfl-closet-grow-newbs-who-need-help.876774/#post-11740905
Despite your "newbie" status in this world, you sir are most definitely a cfl master!

Haha, thanks PeaceofMind, I've been growing plants (not cannabis) my whole life, also my education is based in plant biology, so I have the knowledge on my side...now I'm working on the experience part, lol! I'll check your grow out in a minute. Thanks for tuning in though, appreciate the compliment!

What a beauty. That plant looks really good, no doubt this grow will turn out awesome! Great job for sure! I'll be back to check er out. I'm growing a strain for my 1st time with some afghani in its lineage, and I think its going to be dank, it seems like a winner! Nice grow!

Nice setup. Is that just for vegging or will you flower in there as well?
I will flower in here as well. I have 5, 55 true watt 2700k CFL's that I will add all around once flowering begins. I'm going to experiment with a 50/50 spectrum grow this time. I've read a lot about it, both pros and cons, but I've never seen anyone do a 50/50 spectrum setup, so I wanna give it a go.

Curently she's vegging under a 250 watt 6500k CFL (very large bulb by the way), For flowering I'll add those 5 55 watters at 2700k. So that'll be 250 watts of 6500k and 275 watts of 2700k...It should be an interesting grow.

Day 13,

Hey all, she's doing great! Started seeing some under growth already. I'm not going to top her, just LST her into a circle before I start flowering (same method I've used before). All of her new leaves still have a slightly purple hue to them at their tips, so I'm expecting a very colorful crop in the end. I tried to take some pics of the leaf tips to show you guys what I mean. It's a little hard to see in the pictures though.

Also, the 6500k bulb makes the plant appear as a very bright green, but in reality she is a very dark and scary green. The second to last picture is her true green color without the main light on.

Enjoy, Question, Comment, and Stay Tuned. Peace!

Plant looks nice and healthy. Cool setup with the tent and that 250 monster watt bulb. I've seen some guy on youtube use the 50/50 spectrum with 300 watt equivalent bulbs and his plants were coming along real nice. Do you have a in line fan and flexible ducting? What is the diameter for the vent holes in the tent?
