ballast timer https://www.sunlightsupply.com/shop/bycategory/timers-and-instruments/titan-controls-apollo-4-120-volt-ballast-timer_1For these 1kw lights, what timers are you guys using? I was told that the ones I can get out of home depot might burn my plugs 'cause they're not built for the kind of load ballasts pull. Settled on expensive Apollo timers but if there's a better way by all means show me the light lol.
Isn't this how we ALL do it.......Phantom II ballasts work well, I think they might cost a little more than"avg" ballast cost but are good quality.
My ballast is screwed into the wall ( I think mines only screwed into one stud.) My hood is hung in the tent obviously. Plug hood coord into ballast which will stay connected the whole grow, then you simply have a timer in the outlet and plug ballast to that. My gf and I turn it off manually though..
These are cfl fixtures mate not hid as many people have told you a separate ballast is needed for each light.......sorry mate but if you don't even no that then I'm afraid you have a long journey in front of you.....Dang my power strip can take up to 15 amps. I don't have a hood I just got my lights. And is it normal for the lights to not turn on wen not plugged into a ballast? I thought that was for electricity control because they don't turn on plugged in without a ballast
He asked a question and I tried to help him.Isn't this how we ALL do it.......
i'm a bit confused on your question tbh.
you have to plug your lights into the ballast, and then, well, i plug my ballast into a power strip on an extension chord.. works fine.
