***The 7th Official Party Cup Grow Competition Registration Thread***

Maybe we could also put in another rule in the rules: 'If you have a question....read the rules....read the rules again...again...'

Now i know itz another rule.....but the same questions come up every comp and it clogz my ability to be able to get my crap pooing attemptz at joke spewing onto the page (wait is he pooing or spewing...? ;) )

....and it would also help people with their reading and comprehension :)

I don't have a problem with using tupperware.

Honestly I thought the idea of buying custom regulation cups that came up last round was pretty cool. Though that would probably be an expensive endeavor.

It muddies the waters and those of us who are already preparing might end up at a disadvantage. I think the party cup should be a requirement, maybe #8 can be a 16oz comp. - it already says "Party Cup" in the thread title.
 
Finding 16 oz party cup is pratically impossible in my country, beer pong isn't as popular here as in the USA. But i can easely find some on the web, no excuse, it's really cheap. I think everybody need to be on the same level to start this comp, 16oz party cup for everybody! You can choose the color, that's it.

Look guys, I'll fess up right now. The contestant in question is me. I have partycups, its really no worries about whether or not I can get them. The biggest thing for me is that they have a LOCKING LID, which will keep the homemade net pot locked into place and provide a more stable base. Really it puts me at a disadvantage because of the volume I lose to the net pot.... You can't keep it fully submerged.....

No worries, I just wanted to try it out against yous guys. I still have no worries about defending my title with a mini DWC in a "REGULATION PARTY CUP"!

I may have to pull out my mini E&F system again for this round, to battle your mini DWC...

I used blumats jr in the last comp they worked ok, I was worried the nutes I was using wouldn't go threw the ceramic cone since it doesn't drip like the normal blumat, they work a lot better in my opinion gonna be using them this round too. Just make sure your using nutes this mix in really well in the water so it'll hopefully go threw the cone on blumat jr.

They worked well (although I didn't end up with any viable fems, that was user error - lol) and the root ball did what I expected with the male I ran to collect pollen. Nice solid root ball, no root circling... The trick is to expose as much fabric as possible for airflow. As long as it's "contained" somewhat with the limits of a 16 oz. cup you can probably cut away much more of the cup than I did with the holes.

Debating between lucus formula to use up the GH bloom/micro nutes I have laying around, or going with the jacks hydroponic mix. I guess I'll mix up a batch of each to see if anything precipitates over the next week, a valid concern since I use silica to balance the pH with these two. I won't have the luxury of available time in order to hand water this time. So I'm hoping for gold :P

I'll have to experiment a bit with different layouts. I'm thinking I'll leave 4, 1/2" sections in the middle main body of the cup at the 12, 3, 6, and 9 o'clock poision and cut out the rest of the middle. I'll leave the top two and bottom ring unaltered and cut out the bottom. Maximum air flow. I'm just hoping that the sections I leave in are enough to prevent it from 'bulging' thus altering the volume of the cup. But I think if I just loosely pack the coco in, it should be ok.
