Im a noob too but ive had my rh at that level from clone and now into flowering and it has been fine. I run my filter all the time just to be extra safe, but if its not smelling yet its probably not necessary.

dont need the filter till they stink. I run a small fan 24/7 and the exhaust only while the lights are on.

It's possible to run an exhaust fan to remove the heat from your room, without having a charcoal filter hooked up to it. Put your filter in your flower room, that's where 99.9% of your smell will come from. If you have 2 filters.....return one. If your vegging in the same room you plan on flowering, don't worry about it, just keep doing what your doing.

Yea that's exactly what I meant........while in veg DISCONNECT your filter and leave your fan free to exaust the stale air out......then when in flower when things start to smell RECONNECT TO FILTER and jobs a good one..........REMEMBER carbon filters have a limited shelf life ......usually one year for a cheap one and two for a filter like a rihno pro which is the one I use .......but mine's has to stay on constantly because it's in my flower room my seperate veg rooms have never needed a filter although I have a cheap one as back up.......

You don't usually need the carbon filer so much for in the veg room. If you are trying to use the filter in combination with your fan to get the right temperature and humidity settings, perhaps you should look into getting a dimmer switch for your fan. That would allow you to disconnect the filter, which will increase the efficiency of your fan, and then use the dimmer to dial down the speed until you reach the levels you are looking for in your room.
