Adding Monos

I was wondering how much of what to add to a CXB3070 3000k Build.
The build is around 400 watts. (dimmable)

For reds Im thinking rebel red 660 when in flower.
For the blues, Im thinking Luxeon M Royal blue when in veg.

I want to make sure I get the right leds and wattage and to make sure its worth it.

What do you guys think?

pretty sure he's talking about adding some to his white just in case you had trouble reading.

makes sense to me. I also think some strong blue in the flower zone would be cool too i think it helps crystals flourish but that's just me

my pov... add monos are for experienced led grower... they know how well / bad works her lamp/s without monos... then add monos... for her needs...

...for novel grower with leds maybe add the monos add problems too... just my inexpert opinion...

...for my pov... on reds i prefer the oslons or cree xpe...

This isn't pure led but it is red led added to full spectrum white. Completely blends with both on

I am very interested in those ratio's as well. There must be a way to determine specific intensities of each spectrum

doesn't the spectrum graph show how much light from each nm the diode or cob emits? Am I misunderstanding the question?

It shows it as a relative percentage with the strongest wave length being 100%?. I am asking if there is a way to know the total strength of each spectrum. Like, 1000 photons blue, 20,000 photons red, etc.

Adding monos can cause bad things if you add too much of a certain wavelength,lower yield,added stretch. Indagro added the 660nm because their spectral graph showed it lacked deep red but a little goes a long way. I think the best COBs have a solid spectrum balance and need very little tweaking,if you decide to play with it just make small additions.

This makes a lot of sense to me.

Let's say, for example, I have a bar with 125 watts of cxb3590 3500k running on 36" heatsink @700mA. Would it make sense to add 20 watts of deep red? 10 watts? I would be using 350mA drivers with on/off switches so I could avoid too much stretch and turn the reds on at about day 21 of flower. Does that make sense?

Red doesn't cause stretch, it inhibits it, like blue.

I still have a lot to learn, thanks. I thought red was related to stretching because of the differences between MH and HPS I've observed.

So it would be ok to just wire my deep reds into the same driver as the COBs assuming there's room then?

HPS has other differences over MH than just having more red. It also has more far-red and amber. Also, the high blue from MH inhibits stretch.
