:bigjoint: This thread is to get the SOIL GROWERS to chime in on their preference of soil based mediums.
Whether they experimented with custom mixes or just plant and go. There are many " recipes " out there that every grower swears by , so I thought maybe there is some simple soil modifications you prefer over dumping a bag into a pot.

Premium soil has gotten much better , and have many plus and minuses , but what do you prefer.
Even if your granpappy mixed moose piss and taco meat into his special blend. I'm just curious what trial and error happened in your gardens.

Shoutout to @Superweedman for his comparison - SUPERSOIL SHOWDOWN videos .

I start with fox farm ocean forest in a 5gal bucket then add 1/3 castings, 1 cup hi-phos guano. I brew teas to supplement this base that are made from rainwater by adding big bloom, castings, guano, egg shells, coffee grounds, dirt from our mulch pile, root balls and leaves from harvested plants, fruit peelings, potato peels and 1/2 bottle of molasses to feed the bio-life.. Anything that will break down and add diversity is put in the sock. I run 6-two inch fine bubble diffusers with a 45 L/min air pump 24/7. I take what I learn here and apply what I have on hand.

that's funny but it sure has become one of those things that you're glad to have around because the bottom is expanded metal screen. I water all of them in the wagon because it lets em drain much faster. And gives the roots one more side to exchange air..on the bottom not just the sides. These fabric pots are great. Here's a before and after 3 1/2 weeks post transplant
