Water 65 gallon smart pots

I'd be using 5-10 gallons slowly watered in a couple times a week unless you have lots of mulch and/or cover crops to hold in water. Depends on how big the plants are though. And how hot your temps are. It's hot and dry in Ca.

yeah I got a 45 gallon and a couple of 20s with straw on top, before I added straw the 20 gallon pots would need water almost daily. now all of my pots with straw dry out about every 4-5 days. even in 90 degree weather!

I found last year if i watered slowly the water went thru all the soil properly and i let it start to come out of the bottom before i stopped.sometimes if you water to fast and the soil on top is dry it leaves a small gap in the outside and water mainly goes to the outside of the pot down to the bottom not going to the center

Just worked out that is 2 gallons day and it definitely needed it as without getting that a day i once tried to go a day without watering and it instantly drooped leaves to tell me it was thirsty

My indoor 20 gallons get 2.5 gallons every couple days. And temps are pretty optimal. 300 gallons outside get 20 gallons of water every 3-ish days. Observe the plant and try new things. Too many variables to know how much to water.
