@qwizoking holy shit are you serious? it can take months to cure? i imagine there's a way to accelerate the process or no? my goal is not so much quality as it quantity.

@qwizoking thanks man for the intel. i thought maybe it was 1-2 weeks, i guess i could have read more about it. do you know how long it takes to trim 1lb/herb by hand? i know some strains are easy than others, like if the nugs are tight, but on average if you have a clue.
im anticipating a relatively large outdoor harvest and wondering what nightmare is ahead of me to do the trimming lol!

balance. you'll be out of business thinking mainly about quantity imo. quality is how you build respect and repeats.
get an auto trimmer for the outdoor. 2 ozs/hour by hand.

How many weeks do you average, 12 wks? I like the sativa buzz the most too but indica is nice and tight and finishes in 8 wks. You must be growing hybrids, what are your fav landraces?

guys without me having to google landrace, what is that? do you guys recommend focusing on only sativas outdoor? we used primarily indicas.

Its up to you, typically sativas have high yields, some of the classics like blue dream come to mind. They can be done indoor or out no problem. I prefer them.
Landrace is a strain thats basically adapted to a region. Mexico/central america has about 5 true strains or landraces. Lime citrus sour spicy sweet with variances of each. The sweet is like dna cannalope haze, it can range from marshmellow to honey suckle and cucumber, being a "lowland" it has higher cbd levels and shorter flower time about 14 Whereas the lime can hit 19-20 weeks,

Curing takes anywhere from a couple weeks( some don't consider this cured) up to a few months. The quantity will only have a minor effect on the time, mainly due to increased amount of moisture because of more material( which should be mostly gone from the initial dry), and that also depends on how it's packed. Put 1lb in its own container, or split it up into (4) 1/4 lb containers, the 1LB container will take a little longer than the individual 1/4lb's, how much longer..IDK..could just be a few days..could be a couple weeks.
What' the longest flowering strain you've run and was it worth it? I'm a huge fan of Sativas and we never get them around here. I've been having an itch to run some, but if i do I'm planning for it and dedicating my room to it for that run. If i have to flower for 14+ weeks I'm gonna make sure i get a good crop.

Ive ran a few 26 weekers, made some fire hash that was red or orange in color and like a tootsie roll, . but the buds were more like dreads, crazy. I mean dank and amazing, really odd bag appeal and super fluffy.
My favorite that i run over and over is the mexican sour, it created anything sour. Goes about 14-16 weeks, can smell like garlicy butter so strong my ex wife would come in the door thinking i was cooking lol, but also to a very sour garlicy berry thats just amazing will make your eyes water during trim. Has a great high, good yield, chunky spongy buds of dank. Very greasy strain, gooey hash of the highest order

@qwizoking @WeedFreak78 thanks guys for feedback it seems like it should take +1mon to do a good job. i sure hope it doesnt take more than 2months.

The only real way to tell if it was cured right is to smoke it.
When you chop the plant think of it like a cutting, its still alive. Curing is basically the act of keeping the plant alive and maintaining metabolic/enzymatic processes and facilitating gas exchange. When you let it dry you want good airflow and fairly high humidity, this keeps stomatas open and prevents excess dehydration. The plant sucks nutes anywhere it can. This is why trimming wet is best. The buds slowly break down and become smooth.. this is an aerobic process obviously and jarring too early or lack of o2 creates the hay smell.
But within about 2-3 weeks it will be time to jar to keep rh up. Maintain a steady 55-60% and let in o2 twice a day during that 3rd week. Or boveda packs and still let in o2. By this time its pretty much good to go. But terpenes will continue to alter and the bud will start to bring out more complex and robust flavors over the next month or two, after 3-4 its not really gonna get any better and yiu just start loosing potency. The terpenes do not need the level of oxygen the plant does when its breaking down. You can leave it jarred and let in o2 once or twice a week

The longest ive gone is about 6 months. The high became more "dreamlike" foggy, sensual, the kind of bud that will have you rubbing your feet and socks together lol. Vs the clear upercut to the nogin, that will leave you buzzing with a grin, racing thoughts and go do something.
Over that time lighter floral fruity and grassy notes mostly light esters and aldehydes are lost. It becomes more hash like in flavor but very smooth. A deeper more masuline herb if that makes sense. Spicy and nutty notes are brought out. Chocolate cloves, heavier sesquiterpene notes.obviously this depends on the strain what end flavor it would have, but yea
