Chopped in half!
I was working in the garden yesterday and was really putting a lot of thought into my NL X BB. After her bout with starting to flower, then revegging she's just not growing like I expected. So I decided to do a super low SCROG with her, just a foot or so above the dirt (where all the growth is), but the top, long and skinny, is 3foot high. I pinched that thick ass stem with a pair of vice grips to weaken it so I could flop her over. I thought I did a good job, but I guess not. When I went out last night the whole top was dead....sigh:wall:.

Now I have a foot high SCROG that's close to 5' wide, might be the new technique? I think she'll be fine and will still produce well, but not growing like what I had in mind. I'll blame it on that 3 weeks of shitty weather we had in May, felt like winter. After pictures to come.

I did the same with my mk ultra about week or two ago from early flower, they bounce back sooo thick. Looking nice, I hope my support system works as good as yours.

I'm found to scrog mine super low as well. She's currently 8 inches or so off the ground.

From one year to the next...
As I was hiding from the 105 temps today I started browsing through my pictures from last year and came across a set taken on 6-25-14, exactly 1 year ago today. So I took another set today to compare last years grow to this years grow. I only had an "overview" picture from last year, so here's a side by side comparison.

P.S. Also a picture of the newly hacked NL x BB.

Exactly!
Buds turn out more uniform, better light distribution through out the plant, and it keeps them short.

I have 2 months to start ,plenty.of time to sort out a scrog cage/wire pretty sure the way the ww grew last season she would benefit even more with a scrog.

2 Months?
Well I guess I need to get a package off to you then fairly soon. It's been on the back burner, thinking you have lots of time, but I guess not. I'll be thinking about you next week and get that taken care of for you.

Here's a couple shots of the SCROG taken yesterday evening. Note the gap between the panels on the closest plant, that so I can get my fat ass to the middle of the plant to bend those branches under the wire. That's new this year. The hardest part of SCROGing is reaching the middle of the plant to do that task. I'll fill in those gaps the last week or two of July. I uploaded large files so you can zoom in.

Looking good! I like to do the outdoor scrog too. It's by far the best way I know to get tons of colas and an even canopy. Plus the great support for all those buds. I just keep training the branches outward and leaving a bare spot in the middle like parting hair. And she keeps filling in. I still need to get the tops on my cages. The plants are just the right height now so I better get to it.

Just to add some more on this it's also extremely helpful come harvest time keeping your plants healthy and mold free SCROG done properly ensures good airflow throughout the plant
It also helps detour rippers. My friend and I both had rippers. They lost entire plants cut at the stocks. My rippers had to try to trim individual buds through the cage so I only lost tops off 3 plants and still filled a few jars from the bottom buds they couldn't get in time. Long story but the cages helped so much.
