I've seen this. Pretty cool stuff. I like to use a little molasses+water moistened native soil and dry oatmeal left under the sink until it grows santas beard. Then brew an act tea with that. I also add some native soil to my container plants.

BIMs, beneficial indigenous microbe, people also use pondwater .
For every container (usually a 10 or 12 gal smartpot) I add two double handfuls of native soil growing under the redwoods, it's probably almost pure humus as it's kinda like a million tiny sponges, but it's loaded with BIMs, and in conjuncture with my rotted tree log chunks that I love to use, and my soil is crawling with all sort of little guys in there.
Doesn't seem to make any difference but at the same time my plants are pretty happy.
The wood chunks def help me water less though

Not to mention the dude in the video could be the twin brother of my buddy "Opie" -- everybody has one don't they? Or a "Shaggy"? Lmao! -- who's one of the coolest stoners I know!
