Ok, so Im gonna order a ph pen, ph up and ph down bottles, and some food. The new light is gonna have to wait till I get some more money. So you think reverse osmosis water with a regulated ph level? How would I balance the water with the ph up and down stuff what are the measurements like. Also for food im thinking biothrive since the guy in the forum said he uses and it's cheap. Unless theres a better one for cheaper? What are some other options for water beside revers osmosis or distilled?
dude you really need to do some reading on this subject, you will learn to ask educated questions.
Everytime you feed or water you should check to be sure your water is pH balanced. If its below 5.5 or above 6.5 make the necessary adjustments with the pH up or pH down
I'd wait at least two weeks to feed with nutrients... Unless your soil already has nutrients in it. Either that or some people like to wait til a few nodes develop. Just make sure you check to see if your soil has any pre-loaded nutrients first.
General Organics is a good lineup... Yes the bottles are fairly inexpensive or you can purchase a General Organics GO box for around $50-$55. It has everything needed for at least 1 grow. The problem with nutrients is that usually other supplements are required to successfully use the product. I bought each bottle separately by the quart and it costs me about $20 per bottle and there are a total of 8 nutrients and supplements...
Wait at least two weeks or wait until a few nodes or branches of leaves are there. If your leaves begin to turn yellow before that... Then mix a 1/4 strength nutrient solution with water. Never use nutrients at full strength as it will cause toxicity in your plants. Definitely look into deficiencies and toxicity. It will save you headaches later on down the road. Learn how to identified problems and learn what steps should be taken to prevent any problems.

Pens are more accurate and you only have to calibrate and replace the batteries very few times. The test kits with the vial are just as good but you may find yourself constantly buying testing solution and even though the test solution isn't expensive it will still add up over time if testing and balancing is done as regularly as it should be. Not to mention the ease of use... I recommend a pen
And as far as soil goes... I would never recommend a box store soil or even dirt from your property. Those soils are either ideal for that oak tree growing in your backyard or for tomatoes and actual flowers that you plant.... It will save time, effort, headaches and money if you use a soil that is made specifically for cannabis... Such as fox farm ocean forest... If starting a seedling in soil then I'd recommend a seed starter soil mix with very little or no nutrients that are pre-loaded
Thank you... Started out under a T5 HO for two weeks in just rockwool and hydroton.. Fed distilled water to germ and break ground. Then fed 5.8 RO water only for the first two weeks then switched to RO water at 5.6 with 1/4 strength feeding schedule according to General Hydroponics General Organics feeding chart. I'm at week 4 and currently at 3/4 strength nutrient solution and my girl sits in hydroton mixed with mother earth coco and is sun bathing under my SunSystem 250/400w self ballasted MH/HPS conversion hood with a 10,000k UltraSun Hyper Blue 400w metal halide bulb. Fans and ac for keeping temps at 80fLooks really healthy
I agree I just got the impression he might be on a budget for me the solution has worked and I got a really large amount of it but yeah you got a point.
I'll definitely read up on the stuff but I am a beginner so as long as you guys are here I might as well ask away. I plan on reading up on everything but it wont hurt to ask questions.
